Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 28

A Psalm of David.

1. Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock;
be not silent to me:
lest, if thou be silent to me,
I become like them that go down into the pit.
2. Hear the voice of my supplications,
when I cry unto thee,
when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

3. Draw me not away with the wicked,
and with the workers of iniquity,
which speak peace to their neighbors,
but mischief is in their hearts.
4. Give them according to their deeds,
and according to the wickedness of their endeavors:
give them after the work of their hands;
render to them their desert.
5. Because they regard not the works of the LORD,
nor the operation of his hands,
he shall destroy them,
and not build them up.

6. Blessed be the LORD,
because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7. The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him,
and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him.

8. The LORD is their strength,
and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9. Save thy people,
and bless thine inheritance:
feed them also,
and lift them up for ever.

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
We Lift Up Your Name and Worship You,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most HIGH!
LORD of HOSTS,
Ancient of Days,
Lion of Judah,
Rock of Ages,
El Shaddai,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent,
You Know the End from the Beginning
And the Beginning From The End.
Righteous and True,
Just and Holy,
There is No Shadow of Turning With You,
Even When We Are Unfaithful,
You Remain Faithful,
And Your Laws, Precepts, Judgments,
and Promises are PERFECT and Forever TRUE.

Abba, Father,
we realize from Your Word,
that the evil one is the enemy of Your People.
Sometimes the enemy uses people,
Sometimes the enemy uses Gentile nations,
And sometimes he uses our own loved ones,
to oppress us!
LORD, REBUKE the enemy for us,
And Cause him to flee before You,
The KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS!


Almighty God,
Number us NOT with those who whisper lies to Your People.
Those who say "Peace and Safety" out loud,
but who inwardly plot against You and Your Beloved!
We ask You to Intervene in the Affairs of Nations,
And Change the Direction of Our Own.
We Plead With You,
That Our Leaders will be Led by Your Holy Spirit
with regards to Our Own Country's Policies Towards Jerusalem,
Or That You Will Remove Them.
We Plead That Your Will be Done,
On Earth, As It Is In Heaven

We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
So that People of All Faiths may visit them.
We Pray For Bibi Netanyahu,
and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Today we have Psalm 28 to Minister to Our Weary Souls in The Garden of Prayer.
It is what Bible Scholars refer to as an "Imprecatory Psalm", In which David calls upon God to punish his enemies. Some Commentators think this is "not very nice", but if we can't express our deepest feelings to Our Father in Heaven, Who Then?
