Both of you, do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Also remember that other posters frequently and reasonably ask for sources for all kinds of claims made. The reply to their requests and the quality of the sources, if any, may affect how they receive, reject or deal with your claims.

Not being able to even get the state disclosed when claims about voting there are being made, is quite a situation.

Perhaps you could ask for the state, or a source of that poster, for anything?

When you have asked a poster for information a couple of times, and the information is not forthcoming, drop it. The absence of a reply speaks for itself. And continuing to ask for the information is “badgering”, i.e. making the the thread “about” him.

As you can see from post 49, and many of his other posts, using his state was always the point of his posts and claims, not just once, not just today, or on just one claim.

It kept coming up over and over, he had a fountain of claims and statistics from somewhere, but blocked investigation by refusing to say where that somewhere was.

I can see the point about badgering on a single source or point but if it keeps coming up freshly and uniquely over the thread, if he keeps going back to the bottomless well, then what do we do?

If it is on the same thread, simply note something like “the claim was made earlier and debunked at post x through post y.”

I understand, but I meant different claims, different statistics, different posts, but always going back to the same source, or his locality, his area. He kept going to the same well but wouldn’t tell us even what state all these various denominations and Evangelicals were, or what state all these various claims and statistics were based on.

Read his posts.

I have. They are like personal testimony and represent no more or less than the truth as he personally perceives it. There is no point in continuing that line of questioning.

It is better to drop that subject altogether and bring out the statistics for recent general elections in all the "Bible belt" states.

The absence of a reply speaks for itself.

Ah!

NOW I get it!!

John 6:28-29

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

1 John 3:21-24

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

At that point, it’s probably best to consider that the claims are baseless and fabricated and move on.

I would simply go with what can be substantiated, and it is consistently well substantiated from many researchers , include some by Catholic sponsored surveys, that Catholics overall are much less conservative than their evangelical counterparts. But as metmom can testify, too often the Catholic reaction to such is to charge the polling agencies with anti-Catholic bias, as if liberals are on the side of conservative evangelicals.

ROTFLMAO.

Now that's funny.

Someone who has frequently referred to their personal experiences saying personal experiences should be considered baseless fabrabrications.

It must be a case of someone seeing their own faults in others. Apparently people who fabricate all sorts of sad tales must think other people fabricate things just like they fabricated their sad tales.

I enjoy seeing people (all of whom have been in one or more threads where I stated what area I live in) spouting trash to help rationalize someone not answering a question. It's really funny.

I ask a question, the response is a question, and the anti-Catholic crew are going on and on about my not answering a question. LOL.
