"Cardinal Dolan Denies Catholics Entry at Cathedral Because of Dirty Hands"

See that headline? It is the disingenuous creation of self-important anti-Catholic protestors.

Joseph Amodeo writes at the Huffington Post about the "raw emotions" about being "denied a seat at Christ's table" and how as a result he feels "disowned, abandoned, and lost. "

Oh the melodrama of it all.

See, Joey and nine of his pals protested at St. Patrick's Cathedral in favor of gay rights. Their protest signs were their dirty hands. This junior high tactic was in response to Cardinal Dolan's column last week in which he said that LGBT people were welcome in the church so long as they washed their hands. In otherwords, everybody who wants to be there for the right and respectful reasons is welcome.

Joey and his pals marched to the Cathedral where they were told they could not enter unless they washed their hands. Remember, their dirty hands were their protest signs. So they were denied entry to mass with their protest signs. If they dropped the signs (washed their hands) they would be welcome. If you bring your protest inside, you will get arrested.

Joey then goes into hyperbolic melodrama overdrive.

In response to the Archdiocese's threat of arrest, we opted to remain outside where we stood in silent vigil with our palms turned out facing toward the main doors of Cathedral. As the start of the Mass drew near, the temporary steel doors that mark the front of the Cathedral while the original doors are refurbished, seemed to be symbolically appropriate. The cold steel and the means by which the doors closed as we stood outside seem now to capture well the chill that we felt from the Cathedral's staff as well as the Cardinal. Our peaceful presence was responded to with a resounding "you are not welcome."

Their demand: they want to be the only sinners in the cathedral who exult in their sins rather than repent them.

They seem to be unclear on the concept of why the cathedral exists in the first place.

Per Archbishop Charles J Chaput:

We make a very serious mistake if we rely on media like the New York Times, Newsweek, CNN, or MSNBC for reliable news about religion. These news media simply don’t provide trustworthy information about religious faith—and sometimes they can’t provide it, either because of limited resources or because of their own editorial prejudices. These are secular operations focused on making a profit. They have very little sympathy for the Catholic faith, and quite a lot of aggressive skepticism toward any religious community that claims to preach and teach God’s truth.

What is the difference between the grubby hands of these malcontents and the bloody hands of the demon worshipper biden whom the cardinal invited for “coffee and communion”?

The cardinal seems able to stand up against the vermin who are relatively powerless, but can’t seem to stand up against the infinitely-dirtier but dramatically more powerful biden.

You hit the nail on the head.....

They want to celebrate their sin inside the church, not repent it....

Sounds like they got the attention they were seeking. We’re ALL called to lead chaste lives. The Church isn’t asking anything of homosexuals that it isn’t asking of every other Catholic: To honor marriage between one man and one woman and to be chaste within and outside of marriage. Pretty simple concept really.

Good point.

The problem is not that he stood up to these creeps.

The problem is that he doesn't stand up to creeps in political office.

So, in other words, even though they supposedly go to confession it seems these men are practicing homosexuals that flaunt their sins. I guess they don’t understand “go and sin no more”. I’m sure they would have gone to communion. For them to expect a priest to put the Eucharist into dirty hands is another abomination.

Shouldn’t they just join a church that has their beliefs. The Cardinal couldn’t/doesn’t make any changes in the Catholic Doctrine.

Funny they have no interest in protesting at mosques, but when the muslims take over they will come after gays of all religions.

I guess the church has to accept the whole lgbt perversion. By what justification does anyone have to be bisexual? And transgenderism is an illness.

“Technically they have more than just dirty hands.”

I think now of the scripture:

“They ‘strut’ their evil before you”....

It isn't clear whether this happened yesterday or earlier.

The first reading on May 5 was from Acts 15. In verse 29 the word porneia (fornication) is mentioned among the particular prohibitions the new Gentile converts are being warned about...unfortunately the new translation obscures what the text says. I forget the exact wording but it was something like "irregular marriages."

Jewish morality was much stricter than Greco-Roman morality, so it is understandable that the converts would be admonished to avoid prostitutes (their pagan neighbors probably saw nothing wrong in going to brothels).
