Jesus probably did not die to save us, according to Bakker, but rather, “What if Jesus was killed for the same reason Ghandi and King were killed? Because they were trouble makers who showed too much love and too much inclusion?”...

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

1 Corinthians 11: 27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number [s]sleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world. 33 So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will arrange when I come.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

>>>“The idea of Christ was to come into that midst and find the one who’s doing the hurting and turn him into an ally turn him into someone who’s loved and what you see here is … a love of inclusion,” >>>

Guess he didn’t read the part of the Bible about Sodom and Gomorrah.

I wonder why someone added Charismatic Christian as a topic. This buffoon wouldn’t know a Christian if he was lecturing one. Is there a topic for New Age/Fruit Loop/Cult? That would be more appropriate.

He believes the Bible has not been translated correctly over the years, that people have translated it to favor their own agenda - especially to promote a homophobic view. So he thinks that gives him the right to dismiss the verses that do not support his view of the world. In his world sin is not sin and Jesus did not die a substitutionary death. It’s all about love,love,love. He is all about inclusion, which is correct, God does not exclude anyone from salvation, but he drops the ball when it comes to calling sin sin. I wonder where he draws the line. Will pedophiles or those who want to be in plural marriages or couples who want to just live together instead of or before marriage be accepted with the same vigor as gays? If a man is in love with his goat, will they be welcomed to stay and worship in his church? We are to love the sinner and hate the sin. You can love someone and yet not accept their lifestyle. But if you don’t believe the Bible to be Gods written word to us then you can pretty much do and say whatever you want, there are no absolutes.

“What MLK did got him killed. What Ghandi did got him killed. What Jesus did got him killed. And I think they all died for similar reasons.” Jesus probably did not die to save us, according to Bakker, but rather, “What if Jesus was killed for the same reason Ghandi and King were killed? Because they were trouble makers who showed too much love and too much inclusion?”

Heresy, or irony?

"...again we see Christians fighting each other and gloating when the ELCA or UMC stumbles instead of stepping in and fighting shoulder to shoulder. There are two enemies: secularism and Islam. They will fight each other, but right now both focus on us.... and we are fighting amongst ourselves..."

I’m beginning to look forward to this sick nation’s judgement.

Come to think of it, maybe this is part of that judgement.

This guy’s making up his own religion and his own god to suit his desired belief system.

God calls that idolatry.
