Timing is everything. RC Bishop Howard Hubbard will be retiring in the Fall. After 30+ years of his ultra progressive policies, we are desperately in need of one that fits Pope Francis’ description. The same is true for neighboring RC Diocese of Rochester where their bishop, Matthew Clark, retired last year. Following the submission of his letter, he was told to step down and the diocese is now under the administration of the Diocese of Syracuse, until such time as a successor is named. Please keep these catholics in your prayers!
This is wonderful - not only the news that your distressed diocese will finally have another chance after being destroyed by Hubbard for so long, but also the Pope’s attitude towards the selection of bishops.
People blame the clergy, that is, the priests for the malfeasance and confusion of the last decades, but it’s really the fault of the bishops. In Spanish, there’s a saying: “A buen amo, buenos siervos,” which means that a good master has good servants.

May your wish come true!
