Andrew Sullivan: Religion OK with divorce, why not same-sex marriage?
Breitbart TV ^ | 6/30/2013

Gay commentator Andrew Sullivan on Sunday CNN’s Fareed Zakaria: “I would say the religious arguments are more based in fear than in the actual teachings, that they’re based upon stray texts that actually don’t mean what you think they mean. Jesus himself only said one thing about marriage, which is that you can’t divorce. We live in a country were countless people are divorced and that doesn’t seem to threaten the religious liberty of Catholics. It’s as fundamental an issue.”

Not "kicked out," but in the RC church, remarried couples who had a previous valid marriage, are not allowed to receive the Sacraments -- Communion, or any other --- until their original spouse dies or the re-married couple separate.

It's hard, but there it is.

I had three people in my RCIA class in one year alone, who are excluded from the Sacraments.

Not only that, but there is not (to my knowledge) even on instance of marital sex in the procreative form, which is ever condemned in the Bible, or one instance of non-marital sex, or not in the procreative form, which is ever approved.

If I am wrong about this, somebody correct me. Seriously.

The one act of contraception reported in the Bible (it was marital, but deliberately turned away from procreation) was in Genesis 38, "... and what he did was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord slew him also."

God's opinion of contraception.

One of the Bible-bashers’ favorite targets is the OT law compelling rapists to marry their victims. Makes sense in the view “you made a child (or tried to), so now own the consequence and raise that kid (if any) and care for the mother-intended (the victim).” Procreative sex, however achieved, was taken very seriously as both parents were compelled to become one.

The truth being that homosexuals so often defame anyone who agrees with them and do their best to hide the unhealthiness of their life style and the indifference to the health of others. I am reminded of the way that smoking was glamorized by Hollywood. There is an antismoking commercial which provides us a series of clips, ending with a gaunt, hairless, person in a wheelchair who shows how so many smokers miserable die from their habit. Who tells us that year after year, homosexuals are the most common victim of of HIV/AIds. How many billions of dollars do we spend keeping them alive?
