Jesus never said you shouldn’t go into schools and shoot classrooms full of little kids, either.

I don’t think I have ever seen a church sued because it refused to marry divorced couples. But then again, most accept divorce is not accepted so they go elsewhere. Can’t say the same for they homosexual crowd.

Isn’t this the writer that was busted placing ads in homosexual magazine looking for....pardon the words but... hairy male anal orgies?

Why does any normal human being care what this sick freak thinks?

Catholics are not OK with divorce. One wife. One husband.

Also, I as a Christian do frown upon divorce. Its prevalence in our society today indicates we are choosing life partners on whims, and not seeing marriage as a pact before God.

Is Sullivan REALLY expecting Jesus to have added an anatomy, biology, AND plumbing lesson to his Sermon on the Mount?

Andrew Sullivan, just another homo who brings a weak and uninformed opinion to the table. He should have asked his Muslim host about Islam’s view of buggery.

In the OT it says God hates divorce. Remarrying is worse than divorce because that is adultery. Yet it is so common in our society, hardly anyone even thinks about it and what Jesus meant.

I was ruminating over this gay business and knew that Jesus never spoke about homosexuals. But wait, this morning I remember he said something about eunuchs. Matthew. Some are born that way. Some are made so by men. And think some are for the kingdom of heaven. So maybe he did have something to say about it or confirmed that the prophecy he was reading had been confirmed in Jesus.

We don't know which kind of eunuch was in the carriage that was going along reading a scripture from the OT. I believe it was the apostle Phillip who stopped him and told him the good news about the kingdom.

"I would say the religious arguments are more based in fear than in the actual teachings, that they’re based upon stray texts that actually don’t mean what you think they mean. Jesus himself only said one thing about marriage, which is that you can’t divorce."

Sullivan got it all wrong, even what Jesus said on divorce.

[Matthew 19:8-9] He (Jesus) said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”

Jesus said divorce is permitted in limited circumstances, but only for the specific sin that Sullivan is advocating: sexual immorality. I don't know what he was thinking, but this "stray text" clearly does not mean what Sullivan thinks it means. It's also not fear that leads to a strong emotional reaction against perversion (except in a prison). It's revulsion at an unnatural act, one that is naturally efficient at spreading disease.

Rom 1:20-32
(20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
(26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
(27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I hope Christians sit up and take notice that this is where acceptance of divorce, contraception, and masturbation ultimately lead a society....
