Nicene Creed is not uniquely Catholic.

that prayer is important in many Protestant faiths as well. Indulgences, not so much.

The Nicene Creed is Catholic. At the Council of Nicea it was decided upon to squelch many heresies, among them, gnosticism.

So you can say, “Thanks, Catholics!”

Nicene Creed is not uniquely Catholic.

The Nicene Creed predates ALL of the various protestant communities, and by definition differentiated Catholic/Orthodox belief from heresy.

Many protestant communities, to their credit, retained the Nicene Creed when they separated from the Catholic Church. I am always pleased to see them use it, it provides a measure of real unity among Christians.

My point, to the other fellow, was to refute his claim that the Catholic Faith is unknowable. Quite the contrary, it is written, fixed, and available to all. One may agree or disagree, but that is a different matter.
