At least it wasn’t two women giving out the cups. :-P
But you’re not “in Persona Christi Capitis”; you don’t know better.
Those who are “in Persona Christi Capitis”, including the Pope, should have known better.
High standards can be good unless they get in the way of something greater. And 3 million is a lot of people.
Three million people can get in the way of God?
Silly comment to make. GOD has neither commanded, nor revealed ANY instructions in this regard.
Yesterday, you were worked up about priests who danced. Today it is plastic cups. I can’t wait to see what tommorrow brings. :-)
Ah, now you’ve put your finger on where you are wrong.
It wasn’t three million people. That would have been 7.4 people per square meter.
If you’re even Catholic, read the story of Fatima.
Sorry, I think Fatima was bogus.
Enough said. Thanks for your honest response.
Sure - and if you want to post any facts to support your argument on this thread I will read them.
I’m with you, ebb tide. I find the whole matter greatly disturbing.
Regards,
Good article. Have you read the book by Maria Simma, “Get Us Out of Here!”??
Says the same thing and a lot more.
No, I haven’t read it yet. Thanks for the recommendation and I’ll look it up.
I've certainly read worse:
COMMUNION THROUGH A FEEDING TUBE (And More on Confirmations)
No Genetically Modified Jesus! (Important Issue!) [Catholic Caucus]
Monsanto's genetically-modified Eucharist (Catholic / Orthodox Caucus)
Lawsuit over communion wafer machine:
(CN) A company that makes the "revolutionary Rapid Reload System" for dispensing "wine infused" communion wafers claims an employee swiped trade secrets and took them to a competitor in the communion host-dispensing market. Nu-Life Products wants Nu-Life Church Supplies to destroy or return all the offending items, including those based on its "Quad-Rotator Technology" which allows the dispensers to deliver 400 communion hosts without having to be refilled.Nu-Life Products also sued its former employee, Douglas A. Henricksen, in Minneapolis Federal Court. It claims Henricksen violated a confidentiality and noncompete contract he signed. The defendants market their gizmo as the "Germ-Free Communion Host Delivery System."
Nu-Life wants the defendants enjoined from selling the disputed items and from contacting its clients, and destruction or delivery of the items. It is represented by Thomas Boyd with Winthrop & Weinstine.
actually, they should have put the Eucharist, the body and blood of Christ, only in golden cups, to show reverence.
Of course, if the Brazilian theives are like those in Manila, I figure half of them would go missing before the end of the mass.
However, I do agree they might have used a bit sturdier containers than those flimsy cups. Why not styrofoam?
One can receive communion on the tongue while thinking sinful thoughts, one can receive communion from a plastic cup with reverence.
But one cannot hide one’s soul from God.
Then you take it that way.
