Syria; This Senator ‘gets’ it… Posted on August 30, 2013 by billrandles I am distributing this article far and wide to let people know why I had to do an unprecedented (for me) thing, I tried to talk a young man out of going into the US Military. As a patriotic American, I have always rightly regarded the military of the United States as a force for good. But this Commander in Chief has put our troops to the service of Al Queda, and I wouldn’t want to either shed one drop of blood for them, nor would I want to shed anyone else’s blood to further the cause of Al Queda, the Muslim Brotherhood, or Sharia. Young people need to consider this long and hard, for there is coming a day of judgment. The US helped AL Queda in Bosnia and Syria, we fought in Iraq, and the result was Sharia, and the persecution of Christians, Obama is manifestly on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Syria. This is serious stuff! I don’t believe in “My country, right or wrong!”.

Rand Paul on Syria: I can’t see sending my son to fight on the same side as al Qaeda

BY CHARLIE SPIERING | AUGUST 30, 2013 AT 8:40 AM 0 COMMENTS Share on print

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., sharply opposed American military action in Syria on Fox News Thursday night, demanding that President Obama get congressional approval should he choose to act.

“Without question Congress should vote on this and he is going against the Constitution and it will be an unlawful act if he actually takes military action without having Congress vote on the issue,” Paul explained, reminding Americans that the separation of powers intended by the founders was to prevent the United States from going to war for emotional reasons.

Paul said that Obama would probably decide against a Congressional vote to avoid a similar defeat as David Cameron did in British Parlimant.

“They won’t risk a vote because they are worried that they could be defeated,” he said. “It happened in the British Parliament – the American people are not excited about a new war.”

Paul also explained that he had difficulty seeing any American interests in the Syrian conflict.

“I can’t see fighting to impose Sharia law in Syria,” Paul said. “I can’t see sending my son to fight with Islamic rebels against Christians. I also can’t see my son going to fight on the same side as al Qaeda.”

Under Sharia law, Paul noted, Christians would be persecuted for blasphemy, citing a woman in Pakistan who was jailed for blasphemy after she drank from a cup shared by Muslim workers.

“That is not something I want to send our boys and girls to die for,” Paul added.

Obama has not made the case for destroying alleged weapons of mass destruction. His rhetoric at this point has been retaliation and teaching Syria a lesson.

If they can identify and locate poison gas or chemical weapons storehouses, then we should have taken them out already.

If Syria has these weapons he got them from Saddam. Therefore we need no justification whatsoever to take them out. This would fall under the congressional authorization for the war with Iraq.

Obama doesn’t have a clue how to play a tactical war game that you buy at Wal mart. He has no business being the commander in chief.

I agree that Obama is no commander in chief. Sadly, long before he’d run an operation to destroy wmds, he’d probably inform al Qaeda where any wmds were so they’d become al Qaeda property. That’s my assessment of his ultimate loyalties.

None of this changes the reality that destroying any wmds would be in the national security interest. I’m convinced a President Cruz would understand that. I’m not convinced a President Paul would. While Paul’s stand would be principled, it would be wrong.

I agree.I am not in support of Paul, he just happened to be right about the US supporting bad people in the middle east.I would love A Cruz presidency.

-——obama would save some face if he went to Congress. Then he can say, the blood be on you /Pilate-——

Never happen..... His ego is far too massive....

-——It may be his only option.——

Since he thinks he is king.... His options are endless at least in his mind....

His only concern is whatever he does... It cannot hurt the dems chance to win the house in 2014...

I agree with you about eliminating the weapons. But I want them preserved and brought here for examination first. I don’t want them destroyed in place (and with them, the evidence).

Why? Because I want to know exactly where they came from. If they were made locally and recently, fine. But if it turns out they came from Iraq, I want to see every bastid who hollered “Bush lied, people died!” hung from the lampposts.

The problem with all of that is, I don’t want to put a single life at risk to recover them. I heard somebody write this earlier today: A few cruise missiles or even a B2 raid aren’t going to impress people who have been shooting and bombing each other for years.

I want neither Assad nor Al Qaeda to have those weapons.

Let's face it, we don't want our own government to have those weapons. I don't care who's the "President," I don't trust them to not use them on us. If we get our hands on the ones in Syria, I want them destroyed as soon as we've documented them. Do a CSI on them, if you will.

I look at it kind of the same way, but if that is what they find which would not surprise me at all they will probably just cover it up so we will never know.

Staying in a country is a choice. Staying in a middle eastern country trying to perfect it is a stupid choice.

DEFUND OBAMACARE

Press Release of Senator Cruz

NEWSLETTER: The News with Sen. Cruz - August 6, 2013

Tuesday, August 6, 2013

Greetings,

Last week marked the one-year anniversary of my victory in the Texas Republican Primary for the United States Senate. That victory was made possible because a grassroots army of thousands of activists across Texas saw that the country was in trouble and stepped forward to fix it. Because of that amazing effort, I’m honored to fight for 26 million Texans each and every day in the Senate.

Now we need to do it again — but this time on a national scale. This September, Congress will have the opportunity to defund Obamacare, but it will only happen if the American people rise up and demand it. Please keep reading below to find out how we can stop Obamacare and for an update on the latest in Washington — then share this latest newsletter with your Facebook friends and Twitter followers.

All the best,

TC Sig
Ted Cruz

Correct. That would be just a little more difficult if we got the hardware in our hands.
