I have more or less withdrawn that statement in favor of Cardinal Ratzinger have been used by others toward a nefarious end. Also, I believe it has been documented to a high standard of proof that a letter and statements attributed to Sr. Lucia were fabricated by others.

What books have you read on Fatima?

These are not the facts I remember?

I will have to locate sources again (won’t necessarily be today) and then will reply.

The problem is, many of these references were written by individuals who (at one time) were censured by (liberal) factions in the Vatican. So, a person who is predisposed to believe anything that comes out of some progressive office of the Vatican (not saying you are like this) will think the authors are automatically discredited, while in fact they are made credible by the nature of the criticism.

Will get back...

“IMHO, permitting by silent assent a pope to be used to advance the devil’s agenda (misleading people about Fatima’s message) is worse than of what you speak.”

_____________________________

To claim that Papa Benedict is “advancing the devil’s agenda” is no “humble” opinion. It is an outright attack on another human, one chosen by God to serve the Church (which he continues to do.)

“The scriptural passages you quote were used by the ....”

____________________________

It matters not at all who has “used” these scriptures or for what. We are to take them and apply them to ourselves...honestly.

“I don’t know if I really believe that Pope Benedict lied,...”

__________________________

Then you should not say that he did.

I understand your hatred of evil. However, we should focus on the evil in our own hearts and pray for the rest. In particular, one should not attack those in authority in the Church. If you have a problem with a particular Church official...take it to that person personally with a humble heart and leave the rest to God.

As for the outright evil in the world (think abortion, gay “marriage,” human trafficking, pornography, terrorism, etc.) we, should definitely have no compunction about speaking and working against such. We should also seek God’s wisdom and assistance in so doing.

Overall, we should spend more time in prayer than simply talking about the state of the world at this point. We could ask ourselves, “Do I pray the rosary daily”?; “Do I converse with God daily and listen to Him”? “Do I take advantage of the Liturgy of the Hours daily?” ; “Do I go to Confession at least once a month”?; “Do I pray for the clergy at least on a weekly basis?” ; Am I advancing in my intimate relationship with the Lord”?; Am I serving the Church in some concrete, active way in my parish?” What am I doing to help and evangelize the less fortunate as God leads”?...and so on.

At this stage of history, it is critical that we all respond honestly to such questions, repent where we have not done what we are called to do and begin again with HIS merciful grace.
