Well .. the women priests have finally arrived in my hometown! I wasn't invited but how tempting it is to drive over there for a good laugh. Despite taking on this new "ministry", Ms. Streck still finds a need to attend a Catholic Church on Sunday. Perhaps to challenge Bishop Hubbard to formally excommunicate her as one of his final acts before stepping down next month.
They can call themselves anything they like it doesn’t make it so.
no...she would be a pretender, not a priest(ess).
I do not know what the future portends....but for the past 2000 years it has been the stated rule that a priest shall be a man. (though if my history is right, there may have been a female pope in the 13th century that hid her womanhood)
For anyone who can’t make this ceremony, perhaps you can stop by my place this afternoon to attend my coronation as the King of England.
They can call themselves anything they want. They are not Catholics and they are not Priests.
There was a Roman Catholic priest in Phoenix, Vernon Meyer, who was going through the motions of ordaining women as priests.
He got himself formally excommunicated.
It is not. There was no Pope Joan and no gap in which such could have been inserted.
HOW can a woman preach or teach Eve was a beguiler because she was hooked by a clever tongued devil ?
It is all wrong, wrong, wrong, and no amount of I love Jesaus just as much as you do will change that.
-— Once ordained, Streck will lead what she describes as an inclusive, Catholic community of about 40 people — men, women, gay, straight, divorced, married and single — at a Unitarian church in Albany. ——
I pray that these people come to their senses. In the meantime, they’re in the right place.
(though if my history is right, there may have been a female pope in the 13th century that hid her womanhood)
Well, I’m sure Mary Streck buys into it.

Agreed. They are not Catholic. And it’s not about sexism.
Easy stomach easy, don’t turn over now...
-— God is male, Jesus is male, The Holy Ghost is male (he), ——
Jesus’ human nature is male. Since priests act in the Person of Christ, it is fitting that they be male. Even more importantly, Jesus chose men to be his Apostles, at a time when priestesses were not uncommon.
While the First Person of the Trinity is referred to as God the Father, God is pure spirit. The title has real meaning, but it’s analogical.
The question is why not go where they are wanted; the Unitarian Church is a good start.
*Despite taking on this new “ministry”, Ms. Streck still finds a need to attend a Catholic Church on Sunday. *
In defiance of her excommunication, and to make manifest that the heretic Hubbard will do nothing to inhibit her.
*Perhaps to challenge Bishop Hubbard to formally excommunicate her as one of his final acts before stepping down next month.*
Finally.
Agreed. Bishop Hubbard will do nothing....as usual.
Jesus in a recent Gospel reading commented on how to choose a place of honor and to take the lowest place.
A proud Christian, that is, a proud follower of the humble Christ, is a contradiction in terms. Christ, the Son of God, lowered himself to our level when he took our human nature. He was born in a stable, reared in the obscure village of Nazareth; earned his meager meals as a country carpenter; died on a cross as a malefactor with two thieves as companions; was buried in a stranger’s grave. Could he have done more to induce us to listen to his counsel when he said: “Learn of me, for I am humble of heart?”
Why do these Catholics need to go elsewhere and away from the Catholic Church that was established by Jesus? God gave us free will, but it must hurt when so many turn away.
Let us hope that the Prodigal son returns.
Prepare for the excommunication.
God bless her but she is not a Catholic Priest. No such thing.
