we’re going to imitate Mary in our obedience to God’s word.

You see it much different than i do, what comes to my mind is that if his mother and brethren had of been his followers they would not have been outside, they would have had no reason to act like outsiders.

However i can see that some one else may see it different as it does not plainly say.

Also you did not acknowledge the fact that Jesus says to call no man on this earth father, there is only one father and that is God, and that is very plain.

You also did not acknowledge this
Mark 10
42
But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

43
But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

It seems that so many Church leaders i have questioned on some of the plainest scripture does more explaining away than explaining.

And how about the tithes and Sunday sabbath?
Sure you can explain it or explain it away but where does the scripture do either one?

I have heard many protestant preachers try to explain both but they do nothing except make assumptions based on scripture that may be irrelevant to the issue.

Do i believe in Bible only? well i don,t know for sure but i do not believe in teaching anything that i can not plainly see from reading the scriptures so why should i believe any one else who does?

Like i have insinuated before, i like the present Pope and i have an idea he has the same concern as i do about some of the things i have mentioned, maybe not to the same extent.

I am not sure where your quotations are coming from, but the Catholic version expresses this differently and makes more sense coming from Jesus talking to the Apostles:

You know that, among the Gentiles, those who claim to bear rule lord it over them, and those who are great among them make the most of the power they have. 43 With you it must be otherwise; whoever has a mind to be great among you, must be your servant, 44 and whoever has a mind to be first among you, must be your slave. 45 So it is that the Son of Man did not come to have service done him; he came to serve others, and to give his life as a ransom for the lives of many.

Mark 10 42;44 http://www.newadvent.org/bible/mar010.htm

To address your comments:

All of us (Catholics and others) are sinners and we all have good and bad parts (strong and weak)as we live in this world and work towards a life in Heaven with God. Pope Francis (and other Popes) each have different personalities and strengths and are humble servants of God and are trying to lead us as followers of Christ to join Him with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit in Heaven.

We all have a responsibility to be part of the community of the Church that Jesus established, but what is most important is our relationship with God.

Yes it says it a little different but looks to me to have the same meaning.

Catholic vulgate translated into english
Mark 10

42
Iesus autem vocans eos ait illis scitis quia hii qui videntur principari gentibus dominantur eis et principes eorum potestatem habent ipsorum

But Jesus calling them, saith to them: You know that they who seem to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them: and their princes have power over them.

43 non ita est autem in vobis sed quicumque voluerit fieri maior erit vester minister

But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater shall be your minister.

44 et quicumque voluerit in vobis primus esse erit omnium servus

And whosoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.

45 nam et Filius hominis non venit ut ministraretur ei sed ut ministraret et daret animam suam redemptionem pro multis

For the Son of man also is not come to be ministered unto: but to minister and to give his life a redemption for many.

KJV

Mark 10

42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the
Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

THE DOUAY-RHEIMS TRANSLATION 1582

42
But Jesus calling them, saith to them: You know that they who seem to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them: and their princes have power over them.
mark 10
43
But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater shall be your minister.

44
And whosoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.

45
For the Son of man also is not come to be ministered unto: but to minister and to give his life a redemption for many.

The KJV says almost exactly the same thing as
The vulgate and THE DOUAY-RHEIMS which is said to be THE catholic Bibles

So i don,t know which translation you are saying is the Catholic one but even if you use it i see no contradiction.

So i guess i don,t understand what your disagreement is.

I don,t disagree with that, and will add that the protestants also believe much the same way.

But the Church is made up of men and the church leaders if Popes or reverends or just pastors are men and men do make mistakes, and they also turn to greed for money or power or both.

God gave us his written word so that we can recognize those things which Jesus preached.

As i have said before, i have no disagreement with Pope Francis.
