"Rebecca Musser was born into the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS Church), an extreme, isolated, polygamist sect that had splintered off from the Mormon faith. At age 19, she was forced into a polygamous marriage to the churchs prophet, a man more than four times her age. After her husband died and Warren Jeffs, the new prophet, tried to force her to remarry, Rebecca escaped."
Musser wound up testifying 20 times in cases vs. fLDS leaders. She has written a book called, 'The Witness Wore Red'
Here...we see the "residue" of Joseph Smith injecting polygamy coupled with cultic controls into our culture.
If she were muslim, the marriage would’ve happened when she was 8, and she would have died of the rape.
According to LDS historian Todd Compton, Joseph Smith's brood included girls as young as 14, at least three pairs of sisters, and a teenage girl and her mother.
Fawn Brodie also notes that Joseph's favorite pickup lines were (to his teen conquests), "if you don't please your prophet, I will be called home and everyone will blame you," and (to the his older conquests), "if you don't please your prophet, you will go to hell."
In other words, the founding prophet of Mormonism was a pedophile and serial rapist who repeatedly engaged in incest.
In my opinion, these actions are just as despicable as the horrible atrocity committed by the Muslim that you cited.
The ugly side of polygamy, treatment of women as property to be controlled through bad theology, and what mormonism has led to in the lives of people. Worth noting that many mormon freepers have defended polygamy on this site.
I am sure within a few years the courts will rule such “marriages” to be legal.
Wanna bet that there is an outstanding warrant calling for her to be used up under the sacred Mormon doctrine of blood atonement?
Wanna bet that if the goons from her community ever find her, the witness will indeed wear red?
mormonism still practices polygamy, they just call it celestial marriage.
Now there is a move to remove the criminality of polygamy.
“The ugly side of polygamy, treatment of women as property to be controlled through bad theology, and what Liberalism has led to in the lives of people.”
Hmmn - sounds all too familiar, as the following shows:
“The ugly side of Liberalism, treatment of women as mere sex toys to be manipulated through peer pressure, and what Liberalism has led to in the lives of people.”
I’m not Mormon, but the obvious is hard to ignore - America would have far fewer Urban Feral bastards predating freely in our communities had Mormonism occupied the position of Liberalism now holds.
Quite so. Just wanted the few thousand FLDSers compared properly to the 1.2 billion muslims.
“The ugly side of polygamy, treatment of women as property....”
That’s a bad thing? ;)
Warren Jeffs daddy was a piker...
Joey Smith had 40+ extra so called “wives”
Briggie Young had more than 50..
However while Young got 80 illegitimate children out of his women Joey only got 8 or less
plus the 4 surving and the couple that died he had with Emma totalling 6 extra, he had only 14 or less
at that same period my Christian AKA Gentile/infidel ancestors had the same number from onloy one LEGEL wife...
Gollies how can that be possible ???
Lets see about 1825 Joey convinced Emma to go against her wise father’s warnings and run off with him (no proof they were ever married..Joey didnt believe in Christian marriages so he wouldnt have asked any pastor to make them legal)
Joey got himself killed i9n a shoot out at the Carthage jail in 1844..
20 were looking at the intervening 20 years 1825-1844
Looking at my granddads for that time..
Between 1817 and 1841 one Church of England ...meaning Christian... 3rd great grandfather had 10 living children from ONE LEGAL wife...How can that be ??? maybe cause he lived in England..
Between 1833 and 1844 another Christian 3rd great grandfather had 6 children from ONE LEGAL wife..and went on to have another 5 by 1860, a total of 11 living children from one wife..Hmmm he lived in Canada..
Between 1820 and 1839 another Christian 3rd great grandfather in England had 8 living children from ONE LEGAL wife...I see a pattern here...
and between 1809 and 1834 yrt another Christian 3rd great grandfather in England had 11 living children with ONE LEGAL wife
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOEZ
“Im not Mormon, but the obvious is hard to ignore - America would have far fewer Urban Feral bastards predating freely in our communities had Mormonism occupied the position of Liberalism now holds.”
I’m not you, but to me it seems obvious that anytime you treat women as less than created in the image of God, you end up with failure - liberalism and mormonism.
and 14 wasnt the youngest that Joey wanted to rape...
He pressured one of them for sex when she was just 12 and she refused him so he kept after her until she was 15/16 when he finally had her..
A play about polygamy
Emma and Minna became brides on the same day, and at the same hour to the same man, Amos Cowles.
The Mormon high-priest, Brigham Young, tried to introduce these bigamous weddings, in order to do away with the absolute priority assumed by some first wives. In this case, the plan worked well. No jealousy, no discord had as yet disturbed this Mormon household.
When Elsie felt more than ordinarily bitter against polygamy, she liked to visit this Cowles family, and contemplate their happiness—happiness of a very negative kind, but Elsie knew nothing about negative and positive conditions. Absence of discord and misery was to her happiness, the only happiness of which she could form an idea.
But this evening Elsie found Kleena in a very cross mood trying to pacify a still crosser baby. Emma tended another baby, who seemed very sick, while Minna was occupied in preparing her liege lord’s toilette, to go courting!
If we collect the words floating in the atmosphere of the two rooms in which the members of the Cowles household are congregated, it will give a better idea of the happiness of this model family than any trite description.
Minna. “Dear me, how tired I am! Amos, I wish you would speak to those children, they are quarreling again.”
Amos. “Sorry, my dear, but I haven’t time just now. Where is my blue neck-tie? Julia likes blue. Why don’t you women keep things in order?”
Minna. “We do try, but there’s the children, and sickness, and washing and—here’s your blue tie.”
Emma. “Min, do come here.”
Minna. “Yes, in a minute. Amos, can’t you stay with us to-night? Em’s baby is so sick.”
Amos. “Stay! how inconsiderate you women are. Here, don’t go off, tie this bow for me; you can do it so nicely—and don’t frown, Min, it don’t suit your style.”
Child. “Papa, see what I got at school to-day.”
Amos. “Don’t bother me now.”
Second Child. “Jim is saying naughty words.”
Amos. “Minna, you should look better after these children. You don’t do your duty. There now, am I not irresistible?”
Emma. “Baby has another spasm.”
Amos. “How do I look?”
Minna. “You look well enough. If you were as tired as I, you wouldn’t be thinking of your looks.”
Amos. “Just like women, always jealous, and tired, though they never do anything. Dear me! I am late.”
Kleena. “Ain’t it wicked that he won’t make me his wife? I, who always expected to be the third.”
Emma. “Amos, do go for the doctor, baby is so ill.”
Amos. “My dear, I can’t; have I not an engagement?”
Minna. “Well, that can wait.”
Amos. “My dear, what would you have said if I had been remiss in my engagements to you in the days when we were courting? Some of the girls can go.”
Emma. “Oh! dear, I am afraid baby will die.”
Amos. “Nonsense; baby will be all right. Women always frighten themselves about nothing. I would stay with you, but Julia would be so disappointed. Good bye, dears.”
Twirling his moustache, flourishing his cane, Brother Cowles was off to see the lady of his fancy, his mind quite untroubled by any thought of sick baby, tired wives, or children growing wild for want of a father’s restraining influence.
“Dear me,” cried Minna, “if Amos had fancied Kleena, instead of that airy, stuck-up Julia.”
Emma. “I wish so, too; it would have made everything so nice;—but oh! somebody must go for the doctor.”
Kleena had just managed to get her baby to sleep.
Kleena. “I’ll go,”
Elsie. “I will go with you.”
The girls started, and all the way Kleena poured her griefs into Elsie’s ear—what a pretentious creature Julia was, how she had visited the wives of her lover, boasting to them that Amos had never loved any one but her.
