I think you are losing the focus of the initial post and that was the question of Pope Leo XIII Praying to Michael the Archangel. Earlier this evening I posted on #24 what the Bible says about Who we are to pray to. It did not include angels but rather our praying to God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and it is God who will dispatch angels on our behalf. Always remember John 14:6. Yes; there is just one mediator between GOD and man, the LORD JESUS the CHRIST.
And I thank each one every day; both JESUS and the LORD GOD, that they saw fit to provide an Angel to see me through some very dangerous and tough times in my life.
GODS Angels guided my path through danger and loss several times in my life.
Prayer through JESUS, to GODS ears provided help and guidance when I needed it most. Comfort when there was none to be had elsewhere.
I can only hope that the Angle was MICHAEL, as my mother named me after him.

You pray to the Lord JESUS, you pray to the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
If they see fit, they will send an angel to see you through.
You got all of those correct.

Why do I ask people to pray for me, when I can pray for myself? Why do I let my kids put my Sunday church donation in the basket, when I can put it in myself? Why do I have them write and say sweet messages to mom or the grandparents, when I can say them myself?
Because we are social beings, that's why. One in Christ means just that: ONE IN CHRIST. All of creation is united by Him, and as we draw closer to Him, we must by definition draw closer to each other.
You know what the word "saint" is? It's an English word that came from French "saint" = "holy", which itself came from Latin "sanctus" = "holy". Are the angels not holy?
Also, this business about Leo XIII being the "progressive Pope"....would this be the same Pope Leo XIII who wrote a blistering condemnation of socialism?
