People under a strong delusion have no problem squaring their favorite habitual sin with Scripture even if it's only by saying that we all sin and Christ forgives for their sins.
Too bad you didn’t work libertarian into the title, it would have attracted our several freepers that are pushing the homosexual agenda and libertarianism in the name of Jesus, as the Christian position.
If someone will not submit to the authority of Scripture or the authority of two millennia of church teaching, why do they bother with Christianity? This "pastor" should spend Sunday mornings relaxing with his peeps down at the coffee shop and knock off the pretence of being a Christian.
A little intellectual honesty is all I ask for.
For those attending Kirkwood Baptist Church....LEAVE RIGHT NOW.
Never darken those doors again.
About the “senior pastor” from the church’s website:
Scott was born in Oklahoma. He has a B.A. from Oklahoma Baptist University (Religion/History), a M.Div. in biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Th.M. in philosophy and theology from Princeton Theological Seminary; and a Ph.D. in ancient philosophy from the University of Oklahoma.
His dissertation was on the epistemology of Xenophanes natural theology,
but his real interest is food and music and working with others to understand the relevance and impact of ancient wisdom.
Just what in the world is ancient wisdom?? Princeton must have really messed him up. If he has a MDiv in Biblical Languages he’s totally chosen to ignore what he learned...or should’ve learned.
His real interest is food and music?
This guys in the wrong line of work.
ahh...i see the problem runs deep in this church...part of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship which allows for women in the pastorate and believes its ok to be homosexual.
1990 Because of controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention, KBC began to give consideration to alternative means of funding programs, agencies, and mission endeavors that to that point had been channeled through the SBC.
1991 -1992 The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship formed and moderate Baptists, who felt uncomfortable with the current activities and decisions of the SBC, were able to unite and move toward some common goals. After much discussion in open meetings, deliberation through the Church Leadership Council, and prayer on the part of individuals, Kirkwood Baptist Church voted in 1992 to no longer send money through SBC boards and agencies, but to give directly the support of missions through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
March 14, 2001 KBC members present at the regular business meeting unanimously approved a resolution from the Church Leadership Council stating that we disaffiliate ourselves from both the Southern Baptist and Missouri Baptist Conventions.
Looking at the "church" website, it appears that this group was part of the SBC at one time, but left because they decided they were "moderate Baptists". They are now part of a group called "Cooperative Baptist Fellowship" - basically a bunch of apostate Baptist churches who want to have their religion evolve with the culture, rather than adhere to timeless Biblical principles.
BUMP
what do they call the person who graduates LAST in their class from medical school????? "doctor"
