On Monday, Michael Eric Dyson appeared on The ED Show on MSNBC, this time hosted by Joy Reid. He was introduced as someone knowledgeable in American history and Biblical theology. Dyson, a professor at Georgetown, then insinuated that the Bible's teaching regarding loving Jesus is interestingly homoerotic.
Dyson said: Look through the Bible, there's a lot of interesting things. The same men who sat up in a church of all men -- 'I put my God, Jesus over all women, I love Him more than I love her!' -- Hmmm... do you really? That sounds interestingly homoerotic to people who are outside your religious tradition! I'm not suggesting it is, but I'm suggesting there are some very interesting, subtle narrative tensions within the Bible itself and within Christianity beyond that.
Heres a video of Dyson's remarks:
Dysons comments demonstrate a total ignorance of the Bible and of historic Christian teaching based on its text. He makes two great errors worthy of attention.
1. Christian teaching on marriage focuses on Jesus Christ as the model of what it means for a husband to love his wife. In Ephesians 5:25, the Apostle Paul writes, Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her
. Paul continues through from Ephesians 5:25-33 to explain that the life of Jesus Christ and his example of sacrificially pouring himself out for his Church is exactly the way that a Christian man ought to sacrifice himself for his wife. What Paul teaches here is reiterated in many other passages in the New Testament, including Colossians 3, and 1 Peter 3.

MSLSD still a septic tank.
Dysons scholarship is perverse, because in the end, it is all about himself.
Don’t you love the guys who claim “I’m not suggesting” when that’s exactly what they’re doing? BTT
MSNBC’s ratings have dropped to practically nothing for a reason. It’s increasingly anti-Christian rhetoric appeals to just a small group of hard-line radicals who just love to hate.
Pajama Boy has wet dreams of sleeping with his father, grandfather, uncles and brothers.
All at the same time.
Indeed. It reminds me of what the serpent said: “Did God really say?”
The guy is a sociology proff. He obviously has a an agennda that has no relationship to God.........
I pity these people - I once heard a guy say that David was gay as he loved as he loved Johnathon more than any woman. That does not mean he loved him in the same way as he loved women. Anyone who has not had a friend or friends who they would quite happily take a bullet for have never known what us Australian’s define as mateship - it’s a common bond between men, often formed in adverse circumstances such as war but not necessarily so, very often unspoken but known to exist between the two or the group of men! To cheapen this bond and call it homoerotic is pathetic and shows the man has no sense of himself or other men!

I agree. I feel sorry for the next generation of males coming up in our world to be exposed to all this garbage and brainwashing. Authentic male friendship or mateship as you and your countrymen define it will probably be reduced for fear of it being perceived as something else.
