NY Times Shows It's Bias (Fired Seattle HS VP front page story, March for Life, back-page no-story)

Bill Donohue comments on bias at the New York Times:

There is no newspaper in the United States that is more extreme in its defense of abortion-on-demand and homosexual rights than the New York Times. It regards the defense of partial-birth abortion to be a “moderate” position, and its reporters have openly bragged about the record number of homosexuals who write feature stories. Today’s edition offers more support to the accusation that it is biased in its coverage on these issues.

There is a front-page story about a homosexual vice principal in Seattle who was asked to step down when it was learned that he was married to a man. The 1351-word story does not focus on the man’s violation of a contract he voluntarily signed (Catholic employees are expected to abide by Catholic teachings); rather, it focuses on students who are rallying to his side. The story features four photos: the one on the front page is in color, and one of the three pictures on p. A16 is quite big (9″x6″).

On the opposite page, p. A17, there is an average-size picture of the March for Life that was held yesterday in Washington, D.C. There is no story. Yet there could have been a great one: hundreds of thousands of marchers, overwhelmingly young, braved the bitter cold; many had traveled through a snow storm the day before to get there (the federal government shut down because of the bad conditions).

A handful of young people from Seattle who support their fired vice principal merits big coverage, but a massive pro-life march in a winter storm is all but ignored. And the motto of the New York Times is, “All the News That’s Fit to Print.” I guess pro-life news is not fit to print.

NYT: doing all it can to destroy life in the USA, as we know it.

Thanks for posting about this, even indirectly. I ca t seem to get things posted here.
This is probably the Eastside Catholic case, not technically Seattle but King Co. The latest is that sister Mary Grace has resigned. And I read some of the comments on Seattle news sources—vicious. Nobody supporting her or the Catholic position on marriage. The job is probably his if he wants it back. I don’t know the circumstances of her resignation—the Punic seldom knows the truth of this stuff.

Sister Mary Tracy, my goof. Rhymes.

Somebody on FR maybe had posted this already, but it’s on my Twitter feed, where I post as littlmaGGie. And it’s really recent, so you won’t have to wade through a bunch of stuff.

The Rochester NY local Gannett rag is notorious for burying real news and pushing BS crap to support the loony left.
Last year, Neil Armstrong's death only rated page 4; and the same page 4 treatment for the seven Marines killed in a training accident last year.
But today, half the front page, AND, half an inside page are devoted to some moron whose lute was (supposedly) damaged by airline baggage handlers.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

I have deliberately (mostly) avoided the Eastside Catholic story because I know it would just make me mad. My younger sister works for another Catholic school in the area, and I know exactly where her sympathies would be - with the gays. My take - and this is nothing new - is that many Catholic institutions have been taken over by liberals whose allegiance is more to the tenets of modern liberalism than to anything specifically Roman Catholic. I would venture that there is no significant difference between the beliefs, values, and behavior of Eastside Catholic students and the students of any public high school on the East Side.

I think Catholic schools are rapidly approaching the situation - if not the status - of the Ivy League schools, i.e., founded on religious principles, yet gradually secularized over time until they eventually drop not only any pretense of religious affiliation but also any actual religious affiliation. Can any traditional Catholic view the events at Eastside Catholic and think that this is a school that he or she should support? It is clear that most of the school's teachers, administrators, and students do not accept Catholic moral teaching, so why should believing Catholics continue to support it? If I recall, about a third of EC's students aren't even Catholic to begin with.

The article I posted on Twitter was from Q13FOX.

But yes, how stupid we were not to realize that institutionalizing same-sex marriage would lead to these horrible messes and injustices.
And it’s the same with abortion.
Since you’re from here, do you remember Rachel Belle bleating on about how mad she was at the Navy for not providing abortions, or late-term abortions, or something? No regard at all for who funds the military, and all the other ramifications. That’s why the bumper sticker—”Against abortion, don’t have one.” is dumb.
I usually only listen to KIRO FM for Kook to Kook, though lately have been listening to Seahawks a bit, but occasionally am subjected to Rachel Belle.

I have that issue with Microsoft products - Bill Gates always seems to think he knows better than I do what I am trying to do.

Lets face it, if they’d done their jobs, the smorgasbord of scandals would have kept Obama from getting re-elected in 2012.

I have an Apple product. Whoever is behind auto-correct is a strange being, indeed.

I watch little local TV news, and don’t know who Rachel Belle is.

I don’t watch TV myself. Belle is on the Ron and Don show and probably some other shows and stations owned by the same concern. She does commercials for things like car dealerships, etc. Just an annoying local celebrity IMO. Because the radio biz is so fickle, she will probably move to another market one of these days.

It is the story about the Eastside School liar that got fired.
He was basically fired by the Archbishop of Seattle. He aint getting his job back.

OK, I was just going by comments on Internet news stories and those people are hardly experts. One said he should be hired for Sister Mary Tracy’s old job, but that may have been a joke.

If it was the Archbishop who did it, then it really makes me wonder why Sister Tracy resigned and if something cloak-and-dagger was going on.

I am not a Catholic-you have probably guessed from my ignorance of Church procedure a d hierarchy.

She officially fired him, but of course it was blessed by the archbishop. If the bishop had said not to fire him, which won’t happening, he would still have his job.
