“Holy God,
Might God,
God, immortal, be adored.”
Names of God Ping!

Oops!
Mighty God
How about the name of the Father, the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Ghost. Then Peter said unto them be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
I’ll agree with that.
In the Name Of implies authority. Peter commanded “in the Name of” as he, Peter, had the authority to command in the name of Yashua.
1. God is eternal, i.e., always was, is, and ever will be.
2. God is omnipresent, i.e., He is in every place.
3. God is immutable, i.e., He ever remains the same.
4. God is omniscient, i.e., He knows all things, the past, the
present, and the future, and also our inmost thoughts (Jer. xvii.
10).
5. God is supremely wise, i.e., He knows how to direct every
thing for the best in order to carry out His designs.
6. God is almighty, i.e., God can do all that He wills, and that
by a mere act of His will.
7. God is supremely good, i.e., He loves His creatures far more
than a father loves his children.
9. God is full of mercy and compassion, i.e., He very readily
forgives our sins when we are sincerely sorry for them.
10. God is infinitely holy, i.e., He loves good and hates all evil.
11. God is infinitely just, i.e., He rewards all good and pun-
ishes all evil deeds.
12. God is a God of perfect truth, i.e., all that He reveals to
man is true.
Although we in the west associate “Allah” with Islam, if I recall correctly, it is only the Arabic word for “God”. I think Arabic Christians call God “Allah” as well.
As do/did Arabic-speaking Jews, even before there was Islam.

The roots of Catholicism are in Judaism, hence the numerous references to the Hebrew language.
Allah?
Second it.
I AM THAT I AM... beyond description in words
Since doing a study on the names of God for my Sunday school class, I have grown very fond of using some of these names in my prayers. It helps me concentrate on the particular characteristic of God that I need at the time. For example, right now I'm in the middle of moving, looking for a place to live and a job... my life is in chaos. So, when I pray, I praise God for being HaTsur, the Rock. It reminds me that He is the one constant in my life, that He loves me today as much as He did yesterday and as much as He will a thousand years from today!
Quite correct.
Allah is simply Arabic for God, and is from the same Semitic root as Hebrew Elohim and El.
Totally cool post. Useful and interesting.
Thanks. Hope you and yours are doing well.
