What is your take on this case?
Some people in my Center for Studies on New Religions have been interviewed about this and they tell me that, from the information given yesterday, theres no evidence of this incident being in any way related to Satanism. Its just speculation, there is no hard evidence. Also, sometimes beware of Italian journalists because they like to connect Satanism to a lot of stuff. To give you my gut feeling: its more to do with groups of what we call in sociology fringe Catholics marginal groups of Catholics who want to perhaps steal in order to furnish their private chapels, and follow non-authorised private revelations, or something similar. It seems more their style. Satanists arent interested in stealing these kinds of things. They steal consecrated hosts. Ive never heard of Satanists stealing relics. Unless I see any evidence, I think its extremely unlikely.
So what would be their motives for stealing such a holy relic?
In Italy we have scores of groups of Catholics who are half in, half outside the Catholic Church and they normally follow apocalyptic private revelations not recognised by the Church and they have chapels which, from a canonical point of view, are illegal chapels. They are not authorised by a bishop and some of these groups might be enthusiastic for such important relics and to have them in their private chapels. Some of these groups are well hidden. They may await the end of the world, not believe Pope Francis is the real Pope, follow this and that revelation of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. But there are probably several hundred such semi-clandestine groups in Italy....

Cathacostals
There are a handful of FRoman Catholics who "follow non-authorised private revelations". I wonder if it was one of them?
Anybody who would want vials of a dead man’s blood is a “fringe” something IMO.
The other possibility is Satanists, looking for items to use in their black mass. Several years ago churches in Chicago were on the lookout for a group of them who were trying to steal consecrated Hosts.
While not authorized, are they still revelations???
dna sequencing, cloning... this could get interesting.
"Good, that means we're right on schedule. Just one more test, and then we are ready for the world! Light them up."
If we were to bring anyone back for a second go-round, I guess JP II would be one I could get onboard with.
Spirit guide "Matthew Ward":
"The Pope so beloved and respected by many throughout your world was cloned several years ago when it became clear to the dark souls that he was a liability....Although the clones that have been carrying on in the name of the Pope have publicly shown his gentleness, humility and loving spirit, it was to beguile, not to show the way to true spiritual growth. None of the reforms John Paul intended have come to pass. At the time of the downloading of his intelligence, knowledge, and experiential memories into the first clone, the clone was programmed to suppress John Pauls divine inspiration to allow ancient records hidden in the Vatican to come forth and to share with the world's poor the vast wealth amassed by the church."
I’m just not following why he thinks these so-called “fringe Catholics” would want it? What would be the point?
Most of the so-called “fringe Catholics” would probably want nothing to do with anything of JPII’s.
