How is this different from the “Jesus” film that’s been out for years? That’s a good, stick-to-the-text presentation of the Gospel.
The first endorsement listed is from Joel Olsteen. That is not a good sign. The rest of the endorsements do not inspire any confidence.
I hadn’t been in a theater since E.T. until The Passion.
I’ve probably gone twice since then.
I hate theaters.
Something about the darkness and the screen curvature gives me vertigo.
But this, I’d go see.
I'm sure it's going to be good < / sarc>
I’m saddened to see the sectarian attacks on this thread I can see the hand of The Dark One there. Not the currant POTUS but the one he serves.
Ignore it.
Go see the movie.
Speaking of which, "The Jesus Film" (as it's called now) is being released on blu-ray in April.
The Bible miniseries was pretty good. Where the Passion focuses well on the Passion, Son of God is more like a King of Kings or Greatest Story Ever Told encompassing the entire ministry of Christ.
The producers are married. The lady is Irish and Catholic who used to star on Touched by an Angel series.
The interesting point is the producers are married. The wife is the actress Roma Downey who is Roman Catholic. She and her husband wanted to stay close to the text. The husband is the producer for Survivor Mark Burnett. Burnett is described as a Christian and I could not verify a denomination. More info here:

I thought the miniseries was good. Unless you get one of those verse by verse movies, you will always deal with truncation and added drama or events out of chronological order. No different in The Bible series and am sure Son of God will no doubt have its cuts.
If folks are looking for the verse by verse type of Gospel movie then here is a good one:

Thanks. We still have a VHS tape, I think!
Regeneration v. The Idolatry of Decisional "Evangelism" (Paul Washer)
It seems these are legal uploads, which is what i want them to be if i watch them.
Didn't get an answer on that one did ya???
Thanks! Never knew there was a Spurgeon movie.
