“I have some serious questions.”

Baptism in the Catholic Church is the presenting of the child to God. It really doesn't have anything to do with the child's sensibilities. If you want to be baptized as a born again Christian any Evangelical Church would be happy to accommodate you, as far as I know.

And where does it say you have to be a “functioning adult” with “understanding?” I missed that bit in the bible. [

Geez, pal, were you reading the Bible when you read it? If not there is your first clue, genius. I WAS MAKING A GENERAL POINT REGARDING THE AVERAGE LIFE!

As far as your non sequiter re ‘the retarded’: maybe when you were busy not missing things in the bible you came across “Blessed are the Poor of Spirit...” Do you honestly think that God's Grading Scheme doesn't make allowances for those whose spirits may be mal or un formed? Does EVERY idea anyone expresses on a single point HAVE to account in it's body for the ENTIRE Bible? Sheesh!

Baptism is for those who are mature enough to believe, have believed, have professed faith in Christ and want to publicly testify to others about their inner faith. Some children can do all that. Not every child. Infants, no.

Then they go to Hell, says you and your dumb reasoning.

Wow, what a leap!

No, they do not go to hell. If they are incapable of believing, God will not demand they do what they can’t do. Do you really believe in a God that is so unjust?

Really, do you think things through before you post?
