Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Trees of The Bible
Genesis 12:6-8
The Oak of Mamre
New International Version (NIV)
6 Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, To your offspring I will give this land. So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
8 From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The next tree we encounter is The Mighty Oak of Mamre, where Avram stopped and rested right after he was called out of Ur of the Chaldees and given the epic Promise, "I will Bless Those That Bless Thee and Curse Those Who Curse Thee".
The Oak is called the "Terebinth" Tree, which is a pun in Hebrew. Terah was the Father of both Abraham and Sarah, who were born of different mothers.
"B'nei" means "Sons(or children) of". So "Terebinth" means "Children of Terah". There is a very old Oak Tree in Shechem (now called Nablus), which is thought to be the Ancient Oak of Mamre.
Come and Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

I love trees. The many kinds, types, shapes, some producing fruits, nuts, shade, windbreaks, timber for houses, fire wood for warmth, etc. It takes many years to grow a fine tree. Here in West Texas we have two main types of leafed trees mainly ... live oaks and mulberry, they are dying in droves because of our long time drought, it has been a cycle of 9 or ten years or more really. We do have mesquite and cedar trees, the Afghan cedar does well, etc. We actually live in a desert and we attempt to make it look like Houston or New Orleans which of course will not work.
We live in a perpetual cycle of drought actually. We have a severe water shortage and thus high prices to maintain our shrubs and trees alive not to mention grass. The real threat is to have plentiful drinking water.
Perhaps God does not want this area to populate, right now we grow day by day due to the boom in oil drilling.
Trees are vital to life on earth. It is amazing how trees are taken for granted and allowed to die through careless care and attention. Thank Thee LORD for the trees and water, we receive daily, help us to be aware of how fragile our location is ever.
We pray for the peace of Israel, Jerusalem and all those seeking to know Thee and serve Thee, We ask blessing on the lost, the captives, the broken hearted. We thank Thee and praise Thee and ask blessing on America, forgive us our sins, help us to be pleasing before Thee LORD. Allow not the enemy to succeed in bringing America down in our government and FAITH in Thee LORD, in Jesus name, amen.
