Also nice to see that "Son of God" was second at the box office this past weekend. Amen and All right, all right, all right.

But God was actually nowhere near that stink hole. Dallas Buyers Club "The opening scene pictures Ron in a darkened stall at a rodeo having sex with two women. We see furtive, sexual movements. The next such scene pictures the aforementioned friend with two women, all three engaged in sex acts. (It's an explicit scene with graphic motions, sounds and breast nudity.) A flashback also shows Ron engaged in another sexual encounter. And we see him in the strip club, where the camera pays more attention to the topless dancers (wearing only g-strings) than he does." "More than 100 f-words, including a dozen or so that are paired with "mother." Almost 40 s-words. God's name is tangled up with "d‑‑n" 20 times, while Jesus' name is misused half a dozen. We hear multiple crude or obscene references to the male and female sexual anatomy, including three uses of a harsh phrase for performing oral sex. "F-ggot" is used as a slur a dozen times. Also: "a‑‑," "b‑‑ch," "h‑‑‑" and "p‑‑‑ed." We see an obscene hand gesture."

It would have been nicer had “Son of God” had more to do with the Bible...

If God showed up, it would look nothing like the Oscars last night. Perhaps Isaiah 6 would be a good place to get a glimpse of what the Oscars would have looked like if God was there.

“God did not show up at the Oscars”
What a mockery for actors to give credit to God for their performance in blasphemous movies.

I did not mean the Bible mini-series, but the Word of God.

Matthew McConaughey is an actor, he makes a living by being someone else. So is he Christian in real life? Is he spiritual in real life? Just asking. On stage at the Oscars he is an actor. I don’t know since I don’t follow celebs. Now his speech was terrific but.....?

I was confirming your post.

My bad. I thought that was the link that purported this new movie as closer to the truth.

Before I put any stock in the applicability of that verse, you’re going to have to show more clearly how it maps onto the situation. It’s not at all obvious to me.

Did you actually see the movie or get some talking points from other uptight, judgmental, legalistic Christians? Cursing(or as we prefer to call profanity) is not mentioned anywhere in the bible, its a Victorian construct...referring to the sex act using the "F" word may not be polite but its not against God's law even old school Talmudic Law. Just another thing faux Christians love to make up and look down there noses at other folks about. Even G*d Damn is not taking the Lord's name in vain if we are going to get technical...like "Please God damn this behavior" would not be considering taking the Lord's name in vain. Talk about getting caught up in the weeds of minutiae when the good news of the Gospel needs to get out there.
The movie if you saw it is about a sad wretch in Matthew M's character fighting non compassionate bureaucrats and doctors to get life saving medicine to first himself and then for others. I don't think Jesus would have gone through an AIDS ward and called people sinning faggots and said they deserved AIDS, which seems to be a prevailing attitude with some Christians.

“Meanwhile, to those of us who are Christ followers, it was stirring to witness McConaugheys testimony last night; to hear him give God the glory for the opportunities, the blessings he has received over his film career”.
He’ll be back to making B-movies within the year. It is an absolute no-no to praise God in Hollywierd.
Meanwhile his co-star, who won the Best Supporting Actor playing an AIDs infected transsexual, made his acceptance speech, of course didn’t mention God but did say something about not being “ashamed of who you love”. So sodomites get the nod over God with this creep.

Thanks for this report. I didn’t see the show due to epic internet fail and a broken antenna, but I am sure the clips will show up on YouTube eventually.
Meantime, reading about Darlene Love’s impromptu song during her acceptance speech last night, I was reminded of one of the most beautiful performances ever recorded... Kathleen Battle performing the same song, His Eye Is On The Sparrow, in 1983... it was an encore of her choice and she performed it often. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s almost impossible to believe any human voice can reach the notes she hits effortlessly, and they sound lovely and velvety, not the least bit squeaky or stressed. She actually comes down on top of the notes rather than climbing up to reach them. And watching her face is a bonus that is nothing less than mesmerizing. I keep a copy of this video in my iPod.
Enjoy:
