Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Trees of The Bible
Exodus 15:22-27
Hyssop
New International Version (NIV)
The Waters of Marah and Elim
22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.[a]) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, What are we to drink?
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test. 26 He said, If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

a. Exodus 15:23 Marah means bitter.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
This a a very rich Passage of Scripture. We looked at it before, when we studied the many Names of God in the Hebrew Scriptures. The Children of Israel have become "Bitter" very quickly since leaving Egypt, in the wake of many awesome miracles and provision. The bitterness is like a disease, and God illustrates this by allowing them to experience great thirst, and then presenting water that is, in fact, diseased and undrinkable. When Moses throws a large branch into the water, it becomes fresh and pure. At that point, the Lord reveals His Name, "YHVH Rapha", "I AM the God Who Heals You."
Later, at Elim, the Hebrews come upon a beautiful place with 12 Springs and 70 Palm Trees. Both numbers are important in the History of the Jewish People (and Christians as well!). Twelve Tribes, 12 Apostles, 70 Sages in the Sanhedrin, 70 years in Babylon, etc.
Come and pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

I am grateful for this post today ML. There are so many times I am in prayer over something and I open up FR and your post reflects it. Where two or more are gathered....Amen. I have been praying about “thirst” today. Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem, for our beloved brothers and sisters facing opposition and persecution, for our families and friends, for our barren nation. Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!
The Oasis Of Elim
"SO MOSES BROUGHT Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters."
