Pope Francis is changing nothing about homosexuality being listed as a mental disorder and to engage in it is a sin.

Then why has Francis said civil unions of same-sex couples should be taken under consideration?

How dare you imply homosexuality is a mental disorder! One of Francis' archbishops has condoned homosexuality because it is found in over 500 "natural" species".

Homosexuality? De facto unions? "Time to open up to diversity," says Italian archbishop

He describes the “Pope’s “ability to win over the hearts and minds of the media business as nothing short of astonishing.”

Sounds just like Obama in 2008.

That’s not what he said. When he mentioned civil unions and having to look at different situations, he NEVER mentioned homosexual unions. They have ALWAYS been against the teachings of the Catholic Church and it’s not about to change because that is putting homosexual “unions” on the same level as marriage between man and woman. Ain’t gonna happen.

“The Pope reiterated the church’s longstanding teaching that “marriage is between a man and a woman.” However, he said, “We have to look at different cases and evaluate them in their variety.”

States, for instance, justify civil unions as a way to provide economic security to cohabitating couples, the Pope said in a wide-ranging interview published Wednesday in Corriere della Sera, an Italian daily. State-sanctioned unions are thus driven by the need to ensure rights like access to health care, Francis added”

“JP II changed the Catechism”

Did he change anything to do with faith and morals? With marriage? With the church’s positions on homosexual unions?

The answer is no he didn’t. As a matter of fact JP2 reinforced the church’s position on homosexual unions. There is no way in the world that Pope Francis will attempt to change anything to do with faith and morals.

What happens if Pope Francis has a terrible stroke and lingers for 8 years. Does Pope Benedict XVI be Pope again or do we have three popes?
I can’t recognize Francis while one of the best popes is still alive. Benedict is one the greatest leaders in my life, an intellectual giant and on point on canon law and teaching.
Francis? Jesuits and their legendary casuistry. Talking out of both sides of the mouth, civil unions indeed.

Are you familiar with what the Roman Catholic catechism teaches on Islam, for example?

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

So, do you believe this is what your religion has always taught? And do you believe it yourself? Does the "plan of salvation" really include infidels?

Are you kidding? He's already making an attempt right now via Walter Kasper.

Big whoop! Without a Devil’s Advocate, they can canonize anybody, including Broger Roger of Taize who was declared to be already in Heaven within days of his death.

Just means God will judge them, like the rest of humanity, on the last day. The ones that were never exposed to Jesus Christ, could find a way to eternal salvation. The ones that have been exposed to Him, but go around killing Christians, and running planes into buildings, will burn in hell.

Why does Catholicism bother you so much? You always have a spiteful remark to make about Catholicism. You claim you were once Catholic. If so, and you are no longing practicing the faith, why the obsession with all things Catholic?

So is that the infallible interpretation of the infallibly interpreting infallible magisterium?

And if it's not, why should anyone pay any heed to it?

Or did you get that from somewhere else? And does that not mean that it is an essentially meaningless interpretation?
