Some parents and students at one of North Carolina’s largest Catholic schools are outraged after a Nashville Dominican nun who holds a doctorate in theology criticized homosexuality in a presentation to students, according to the Charlotte Observer.
“We the students of Charlotte Catholic High School would like to issue a formal complaint regarding Sr. Jane Dominic [Laurel]’s speech,” according to an online petition. “We believe that same sex couples have the ability to raise happy, well-adjusted and successful children … We believe that homosexual couples are capable of monogamy. As rational people, we know that most homosexual people lead healthy, normal and productive lives like their heterosexual counterparts.”
An alternate petition states that “we the students of Charlotte Catholic High School, acting on our Catholic beliefs, are declaring a formal objection towards all those who do not accept Sister Jane Dominic's lecture … We are outraged that the topics talked about are being debated within a community where the shared faith teaches us what truly is holy and that anyone would stand up against a nun, who has given her life for the Lord, and blatantly deny God’s teachings.”
Bishop Peter Jugis will attend a meeting with parents and students on April 2.

Those students have guts to counter the hostility toward the nun. Good for them.
Geez! If I had a kids in one of those horrid places, I’d yank ‘em and put ‘em in a public school where they could get proper exposure to needed life experience!
Good for Sr. Jane Dominic.....she just gave a speech to see how many comprehend The Bible!
There are only marriages of man and woman in The Bible. Homosexuality is a sin every where it is mentioned in The Bible. If these kids had True/False questions vs. multiple choice....maybe they’d be taking issues of right and wrong to heart and min...but their iPardons may not give the right answers!!
Sister Lois sure taught us how to diagram sentences.
I was taught by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. They used rulers for more than just drawing straight lines.
Everything Sister Jane said was absolutely correct.

Hey, if you don’t like homosexuality, you should move to Russia, where they’re more moral, more religious, and less corrupt than the godless American Police State tyranny.
AND, their president isn’t a simpering incompetent sissy lying scumbag dictator-wannabe.
Expel all of them and replace them with students that actually want to learn morality.

Kick every single student out who has a parent involved in this protest.
“...have the ability...” “...are capable of...”. Yes, but DO they? Sometimes.
However, my lifetime of observation leads me to the conclusion that homosexuality is often part of a complex of pathologies involving egocentrism, a lack impulse control and inability to defer gratification. These things do not lend themselves to lives that are healthy and productive, especially for those closest to them. (We’ll leave definitions of “normal” out of this for now.)

That is the issue that really scares me, adoption. The normal rules don’t apply to homosexuals. Jeffery Dahlmer was allowed to take his naked, drugged and bleeding (from the but) “boyfriend who was I think 13 or 14 back home to kill and eat him. He only had to tell the cops that it was his “boyfriend” was drunk (admitting to 2 crimes) and that he’d take care of him.
Let’s say a homosexual couple is, not even sexually abusing a kid in their care but just not taking care of him or her. What social worker will act? None because they will be worried about being called “homophobic”.

That has been my observation as well. In my experience, for those that I know, their lives have been anything but “gay.”
