Today the monsignor who was clearly ailing and had a nosebleed came right out and said abortion is wrong and sex is for marriage. He soldiered through the Mass. He is an inspiration.

It’s wonderful to hear this about your monsignor, but at the same time, it’s pathetic and sad that it would even be noteworthy. I think our monsignor when I was growing up, were he alive today, would be preaching this message every week. These were not issues at the time, however.

God Bless your Monsignor and prayers up for his recovered health. We had a great sermon tonight about counting our Blessings and almsgiving from ours.

God Bless Him mightily!

Taking such a stand in public...such as it is today takes real courage

Fairly amazing that it takes strength and courage to preach this message at a Catholic Mass!

If you find that courageous, you must be in the Northeast or a very blue precinct.

Or at at modern Episcopal Service..or a Presbyterian Service etc etc.

I have yet to hear that the Baptists are doing “gay Marriages” but given todays “climate” anything’s possible.

Very good, I’ll pray for his health. Our own priests, fighting the ravages of aging, include similar comments in the homily quite frequently and frankly.

Ours does every week. The pews are full and the Mass is reverent and beautiful! As a matter of fact I’ve been traveling lately and have heard fairly strong homilies...I wonder what’s up? :)
