The Fourth Cup
St. Paul Center fopr Biblical Theology ^ | Scott Hahhn

Posted on 04/13/2014 9:39:14 AM PDT by verga

Dr. Scott Hahn shows us how the Catholic Understanding of the Mystical Body of Christ, embodied in the Church and revealed anew in the Holy Eucharist, comes directly from the Bible. He places the Last Supper in the context of the Jewish Passover Seder liturgy. By explaining the significance of the drinking of the fourth and final cup in the Old Testament Passover meal ceremony, Dr. Hahn draws a symbolic parallel to Christ’s death on the Cross. It is an exciting concept, that will help viewers discover a whole new dimension to Holy Mass, and the relationship of the Last Supper to the Eucharistic celebration.

Scott Hahn, former Protestant minister, is truly a gift to our faith. The same goes for Steve (and Janet) Ray.
God does work in mysterious ways.

Without The Eucharistic Belief, all other Christian faiths whether preached and practiced by Rev. Moon, the Mormons; Billy Graham, prosperity Gospel’s Joel Osteen; Bishop “Clown” Jake, Jimmy Swaggart; Tammy Faye Baker; Rev. Schuller; Rev. Al Sharpton; Rev. Jeremsih Wright; or the Four Square local neighborhood Church, Gay bishop Church Lutherans; and Episcopalians, is all one big farce.

This all flows from the evil spawned by the Reformation that now has some 30,000 Christian sects where just about each person can crack open a Bible, give it his or her own interpretation shorn from context, traditions, revelation and early liturgical worship followed by the Disciples of Christ and attract the simplistic minds in our age to be their followers. We saw this with Jim Jones and David Koresh.

In short, there is the Catholic Church, and then there is everything else! a field of wild and withering mushroom Christian sects. You will note the silly New Age type Christian “Sunrise Services”( whatever that means) one encounters every Easter Sunday. This is the equivalent of “Beach-goer Picnic Church.”

The Catholic Church says 30,000 denominations. The Protestants say 40,000. "Do it yourself faith."

I have an old friend who is Episcopalian and SHE thinks that when she has their "communion" she really is consuming the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. She lives 1500 miles away and I don't see her often so I say nothing.

Her son, her eldest, DID convert to Catholicism. He is very smart like his dad was.
My friend readily admits that the social part is just as important to her as she lives out in the middle of central Texas, the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fire ants.
Her church is her social life.
