‘back ‘atcha...
Even years ago I was always surprised to see something like that in the newspaper!
In the sermon tonight, something the preacher said made me think of how Jesus, while not wanting to go through with it (”but Thy will, not mine”) - He was, in the end, going to get to be back home with his Father. Not sure I had ever thought about that before.
The other thing I almost always think on Maundy Thursday is how quickly things can change. One day they are throwing you a parade, and five days later they are whisking you away in the middle of the night.
Amen!
Thank YOU, Jesus!
Have a Great Good Friday, all.
In other words, even in the garden, He began His suffering and death there and also Holy Week each year is a lesson in about feelings/emotions, that they do change as on Sunday you get honored with a great welcome and by Friday there are calls for your death.
For those who do not remember the comic strip, the blond caveman was named “Peter”.
There’s never much talk about Jesus’ burial.
The cross is the sacrifice, the resurrection is evidence both of new life and that the sacrifice was accepted.
But not much about being taken from the cross, laid in the tomb, and those hours in the grave.
We don’t contemplate the grave well. Even with Jesus does it scare us?
