Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Trees of The Bible
Matthew 3
John the Baptist Prepares the Way
New International Version (NIV)
1 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:
A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
4 Johns clothes were made of camels hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. 5 People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. 6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, We have Abraham as our father. I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Oh LORD, Our God
Blessed Be Your Holy Name!
How Wonderful You Are,
Holy, Righteous and Just,
Yet Abounding in mercy and Love.
Thank You For Showing Us That Each of us Must Stand Before You,
Not Relying Upon Our Ancestors or Lineage,
But Solely Upon You.
We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
The Apple of Your Eye,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Galatians 5:5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. . . Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord. Psalm 118:19 Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Half a century ago, I served as a guide on Boston's Freedom Trail. I took people to the various sites in Boston where Our Revolution "Brewed"(Tea Party Pun Intended!). Several of the sites on the Freedom Trail are 18th Century Brick Churches. These buildings, which were not heated, had snug little boxes instead of pews, to keep the drafts out.
The wealthier church members had their family name emblazoned onto the pew, and woe undo those who would sit in the reserved seating without permission!
The Pharisees were relying upon their ancestors for their Salvation. They assumed that "Their Family Name on the Pew" assured them of a seat at God's table.
However, John uses the analogy of a tree being cut down at the very root to illustrate repentance. The Act Of Repentance requires the cutting down of ALL our excuses and rationalizations, Family Legacies, Pride, and reliance upon out heritage. The same can be said of Our Freedoms that we hold dear. We can't rely upon the fact that we had ancestors that fought in the American Revolution, or served in Wars or in leadership, to secure our Freedom as Citizens. As Ronald Reagan said, "Freedom is but one generation from extinction."
Just as the Pharisees could not point to Abraham, nor could the Colonists point to their Family Pew, neither can we point to the generations that precede us to secure the Blessings of Salvation...and liberty.
Come and Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen
