The Power of the Tongue

New International Version (NIV))


3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Hallowed be Your Most Holy Name!
For Your Alone Are Worthy of Our Worship,
For You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are the True God!
Teach Us, Oh LORD,
To Guard Our Tongue,
And Put a Watch Upon Our Lips,
That Our Speech will be like Fresh Water,
Or Delicious Fruit.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
The Apple of Your Eye,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

James only wrote one Book in the Bible, and it is in the form of a Letter. At first glance, it would seem that he contradicts Paul, as he emphasizes Good Deeds rather than Grace. But, as it is a Pastoral Letter, addressing the Church, it becomes clear that James is addressing behavior that needs to be corrected within the Body of Already Professing Christians.

James uses Wonderful Analogies From Nature and Science to illustrate the power of the Tongue...for Good or For Evil. He also mentions that Man can NOT do this "Correction" by himself, and needs the Power of God to bring about Miraculous Change in a person's Life. The Simple but Eternal Principle of "Like Begets Like After Its Kind", boldly stated in the Book of Genesis, is once again brought forth, tying one of the Last Books in the Christian Canon to the First Chapter in the Torah.

The Holy Bible is comprehensive, covering an amazing number of the situations of men in time and life. I suppose the readers and believers of the Scriptures continually receive new and deeper insights being revealed to them. It has worked that way for me. We are immersed in extraordinary processes, which we largely take as ordinary and not miraculous. A single cell is complicated, and the life of a cell is baffling. Where does it come from? From God of course.

How can anyone be an atheist?
