Proverb 2 (NKJV)

The Value of Wisdom

01 My son, if you receive my words,
00 And treasure my commands within you,
02 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
00 And apply your heart to understanding;
03 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
00 And lift up your voice for understanding,
04 If you seek her as silver,
00 And search for her as for hidden treasures;
05 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
00 And find the knowledge of God.
06 For the LORD gives wisdom;
00 From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
07 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
00 He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
08 He guards the paths of justice,
00 And preserves the way of His saints.
09 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
00 Equity and every good path.

10 When wisdom enters your heart,
00 And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11 Discretion will preserve you;
00 Understanding will keep you,
12 To deliver you from the way of evil,
00 From the man who speaks perverse things,
13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness
00 To walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice in doing evil,
00 And delight in the perversity of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked,
00 And who are devious in their paths;
16 To deliver you from the immoral woman,
00 From the seductress who flatters with her words,
17 Who forsakes the companion of her youth,
00 And forgets the covenant of her God.
18 For her house leads down to death,
00 And her paths to the dead;
19 None who go to her return,
00 Nor do they regain the paths of life--
20 So you may walk in the way of goodness,
00 And keep to the paths of righteousness.
21 For the upright will dwell in the land,
00 And the blameless will remain in it;
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth,
00 And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

The purpose of Writing the book of Proverbs by Solomon is to reveal the mind of God in matters high and lofty and in common, ordinary, everyday situations. It appears that no topic escaped King Solomon's attention. Matters pertaining to personal conduct, sexual relations, business, wealth, charity, ambition, discipline, debt, child-rearing, character, alcohol, politics, revenge, and Godliness are among the many topics covered in this rich collection of wise sayings.

Without wisdom, knowledge is nothing more than an accumulation of raw facts, influenced by emotional feelings. Many highly educated people are in positions of power in the United States, but very few of those educated leaders have the wisdom needed to rule properly.

One can say that they have been educated well beyond their intelligence. A cursory look at the court system will prove my point that knowledge without wisdom will only lead to an immoral society that eventually crumbles from within. Judges are supposed to be above the fray, and immovable to emotions. Instead, the vast majority of judges today are Godless individuals who are vacant of wisdom. So their rulings are totally based upon emotional feelings.

We the people are to blame, because we ignored God';s guidance in appointing our leaders. Instead of putting leaders full wisdom in power, we instead chose those who would scratch our itchy ears to lead us.

Along with my daily routine of reading the Bible, I try to read through the book of Proverbs once a Month. It's an easy task when you consider there are 31 Proverbs. So all you need to know is what day of the Month it is to know which Proverb to read. In the Months that have less than 31 days, I just double so I can begin the next month with Proverb 1 on the first again.

Today's world has many pitfalls for Christians to fall into. We can walk around with rose colored glasses on while proclaiming to the world that we are not effected by the temptations. After all, we Know God's plan for us, and we have Christ is in our hearts as we are led down the path less traveled with guidance from the Holy Spirit. Well, those rose colored glasses are just that, they color the word for us to sometimes ignore reality.

All around us we see our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ going through hard times financially and or going through moments that has brought them to the point of despair. Some have exhausted all the avenues open to them as they attempt to keep their chin up while facing unimaginable consequences from actions of a government hell bent on destroying everything they believed and worked for. So many are to the point of actually questioning if their faith is real. They may even be questioning if the One they have that faith and trust in truly is who they believe Him to be. Oh don't claim you have not had those moments when everything seems to go wrong, and there does not seem to be a way to right the ship as you flounder on the proverbial see of trouble without a way to guide yourself to the dry land of stability. Even John the Baptist questioned if He was the One.

"when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" Matthew 11:2-3

In these times, we need to remember to use the greatest tool given to us from our Father in heaven, prayer. Since I wrote the article, "Stop Worrying Men" I have been deluged with reasons I don't understand how difficult it is to face what they are going through. Story after story from Freepers, and others who are at their wits end. All the stories are the same, they fear not for themselves, but for their ones they are responsible for like a wife and children, while some are even taking care of ill parents.

Well, I don't have the silver bullet to end the misery, and I know a column on why we should not worry will not satisfy the pain of facing your loved ones everyday knowing you don't have the answers for them. After all the Scriptures are shared, and all the listening is over, I am reduced to only my promise to pray for them. So i now pass this on to you my dear brothers and sister. I ask that you take this day and remember those whom you chat with every day here, many you are not even aware of are close to losing it all, because they dare not tell the world how bad it really is for them.

Please pray for your unknown FReeper friend that is in dire need of help from our Father through Christ. Where two or more are joined together, so too is the Lord. I figure we have a couple thousand who can come together with our heads bowed and our hearts in pain for those who are under stress beyond what many can even understand. Please pray with me for our brothers and sisters in need.

Thanks you.
