My first reaction to this story, I must confess, was to think briefly of this classic old song:

   "Cigareets, and Whusky, and Wild, Wild Wimmin"

(performed here by Peter Sellers and the Muppets), and then I thought of the old Elvis song with the line "... a team of wild horses couldn't tear us apart...".

(Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.)

Then my thoughts turned serious, and I started thinking how, no matter what kind of distressing disguise these poor folks were displaying in their disgraceful, public drunken debauchery, they were still a son and daughter of God.

I'm praying that after they pay their debt to society, they soberly find their way back to that Church, to the confessional, or to the RCIA class, and to the true love that Jesus Christ offers every single child of God.

The next song I thought of was this good old hymn:
