The answer is reciprocity. Measure for measure. The answer is to stand for the authority and eternity of the Torah. This means to reverse the Christian notion that the Law has been abolished. It’s utter nonsense and the consequences are now oozing from the screen of a TV show about houses and gardens. Hello people! Wake up! It’s time to repent: Teshuvah! That is return to Torah, the eternal, unchanging instruction on how to live.

They DID have that look. Unfortunately, handsome, well-dressed men have acquired that reputation. I don't know WHEN it happened but the "slob look" seems to be the status quo for straight men now.
Off the topic.
When my husband and I lived in Saudi Arabia the Americans AND Saudis always wore slacks and a long-sleeved, collared shirt to work. That was/is what men wear. No suits or jackets ANYWHERE to be found. Not even any short sleeves. The "good ole boys" from Texan and Oklahoma are the majority of men there. We were Californians, as there IS much natural gas here...yes, besides the standard gas of blowhards. :o) They were the core of the company and NEVER wore anything even remotely resembling a jacket or tie. Always slacks, never tight, and the long-sleeved, collared shirt, tucked in.
Anyway, we were expecting a Pakistani friend of ours for Thanksgiving dinner and, of course, we had to meet him at the front gate of our compound. The Saudis generally DISLIKE the Pakistanis. In a way I don't blame them. "Paki" means PURE. "Stan" means COUNTRY. So, the Pakistanis set themselves apart over there, in those lands of NOTHING, and pretend to be the "pure ones."
SO anyway, my husband put on a white shirt, SUIT JACKET and TIE to meet our friend.
LOL. When the front gate saw a SUIT drive up to pick up the lowly Pakistani, it was a HOOT. THAT meant a BIG SHOT from on high was at the front gate!
The guards jumped back five feet, let the Paki in and "yessir" to my lowly engineer husband.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
We aren't lost. We are not a super country either.
This planet is five billion years old and there have been humans here for only about 200,000 years. We Americans have only been around for a few hundred years. That is the proverbial drop in the bucket.
We aren't ANY worse or better than anyone before us. In another 1000 years, also a drop in the solar system bucket, we will be unrecognizable. And that's okay.
All we have to worry about is our own souls...and those souls nearest and dearest to us. This earthly life is comprised of SECONDS compared to "eternity." THAT is the time frame to worry about when thinking of our souls.

Pretty broad brush you paint with, but I think I see what you mean. The main stream protestant churches are demonstrating the trend today with acceptance of unrepentant homosexuals, and have been soft selling Christianity for a long time. I believe it is possibly a “Christian” notion, not a Christian notion. Just as the nations of Israel and Judah did with Judaism, it is a human corruption of God’s will that started with the serpent in the Garden. Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” Quoting Jesus.
Differences in culture are so fascinating. The custom for someone invited to dinner at another’s home in Denmark, is also subject to protocol. If the invitation reads 7 pm, the custom is to arrive early and wait outside until 7 pm before ringing the bell. One must never be late, either. How long were you in Saudi Arabia?
Saw them on O’Reilly last night. They are tap-dancing around the controversy, saying how much they “love homosexuals and muslims”, and how much they “love” the HGTV network. They also say that everyone can have different “views” and theirs are just different from others. They refuse to stand up for their Christian beliefs, like Phil Robertson did and tell the world that sodomy is wrong and if you don’t believe it then read scripture. They also like to say how many “gays” they have sold houses to in the past, and once again how they love them. The interview got kind of sickening.

There are only .5 - 1.5% homo/bi/transsexuals in this country. (Source: Google) Who knows WHY they do that. Who knows why more males do that than females. It's a SICK aberration though.
Did Jesus complain and whine about homosexuals? He tried to SET AN EXAMPLE for us. Hate the sin, not the sinner. It's a tough example, especially in regards to homosexuals as their aberrant, repugnant behavior hits at the very core of who we are.
At least we can TRY to follow His example. THIS is a good place to give it a whirl. Don't you think?

It takes more than that to offend me. I am not a cry baby liberal who wets their pants whenever someone disagrees with me. Conservatives can discuss. Liberals are as closed minded as they make us out to be.
And you made great points. But as for this country being a craphole, compared to what it was like 25 years ago, we are headed towards 3rd status.
These guys should get picked up by “The Blaze TV” or a Christian station.
