The time line for Dinosaurs on God's Earth?

Posted on 05/19/2014 10:39:41 AM PDT by Vinylly

Last Friday there was a post about digging up the fossil of the largest dinosaur ever discovered. Natural History Museums are full of fossilized remains of dinosaurs. Checking up on Google Search I find the the time line for dinosaurs is about 225 million years, and that was before human life forms. Where does that fit in when God created earth in seven days?

Wait 10 minutes. Someone will post something from the Creation Institute and explain it all. Happens about 10 times/day.

Why do you assume God's days are the same as human days?

Ask me again when "scientists" come up with a consistent age of the earth.

The current range is anywhere from 2 billion to 6 billion years.

Meanwhile, I'm going to enjoy another cup of coffee.

I believe God created the universe and life itself, I’m not real concerned about his methods.

May I ask why you are posing this question?

IOW are you a Christian struggling to find an answer or are you an atheist throwing stink bombs? Or somewhere in the middle?

” Why do you assume God’s days are the same as human days? “

Cosmos used a “cosmic Calendar” that was a whole year, why can’t you put that into one week with a expenential multiplier factor....

And it’s a good thing, too. The evolutionary “explanations” don’t explain anything.

Even most Christians don’t get this: VS. 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (that would be the six or ? billions of years ago) VS 2. And the earth was without form, and void...etc. How much time was between these two events , we do not know. It does however leave a lot of room for dinosaurs and who knows what else. We know that the Earth that God created was “Good” because his word says so. Could be that it was when Satan was cast out of heaven and down to earth. If nothing else, rely on Faith.

You googled? Which our your google sources were here 225 million years ago to confirm the timeline. Or are all of your sources just spouting assumptions and educated guesses?

A day with God is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day.

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 5:8

That was written when the concept of millions and billions would have meant nothing to the reader, but thousands they could understand.

Yes, and one might add that the verb "was" in "was without form and void" is actually the Hebrew verb that means "become." The earth became without form and void.

The “Men of Rocks” series of three programs done by BBC and centering on Scottish geology and geologists starting in the 1700s and relating their observations of deep time to more modern plate tectonic theories is a good start for anyone genuinely interested. Those with predetermined biases won’t like it.

The day is described as Light and Dark, and that was the first day. Sounds like a day.
