I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!

Instead of a serpent, Satan would have appeared to
Eve as a Facebook page.

Some times the latest version is not the best.

“What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?”

We have, and since we have, we’ve cheapened it.

The problem with app Bibles is that there is the irresistible principle to market through it.

Beside that one, it’s a great illustration. Things would be much different in the country and in our lives if we did that.

We would start reading it as soon as we got our seat belt buckled.

I enjoy a Bible app from Encarta which allows me to have both the NIV and NASB translations on my phone side-by-side. I use during Sunday services. I used to take it along with a printed bible but found the phone so much easier to carry and to look things up. The NIV Bible is the Zondervan Study Bible so there are a ton of cross-references and liner notes for additional study. Didn’t really cost much and is available through Google Play.

So, yes, I carry around my Bible whenever I carry my phone. Excellent resource. BTW, there are also some free hymnals on Google Play that allow me to have tinny music for some standard hymns if I want to feel churchish when nobody else is around.

My love songs to God are stored in my music.

But what if your Bible IS ON your cell phone. That is why I never forget my cell phone these days...I can’t be a soldier for Christ without my sword!

The best Bible App I found was the YouVersion Bible App. It has reading plans, highlighting etc. I know there are more sophisticated apps out there with commentaries and such but the the YouVersion app has the least bugs, easy to use and has every English language Bible version and in just about every language.
