Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Today's passage came up in the Study on Fathers Day! I didn't plan that, but it IS interesting!
Baptism is a rite common to nearly 100% of Christian groups worldwide. Whether its purpose is believed to be the cleansing of Original Sin, Initiation into membership, a Public Witness to one's faith, or just Obedience to God's Word, it has been a hallmark of Christianity for 2000 years. Jesus submitted Himself to his Cousin John to be baptized, even though He had no sin to be washed away. His Reason was to "Fulfill all Righteousness".
It was this Act of Humility and Obedience to the Spirit of the Law that caused the heavens to open and for The Glory of God to be Manifest.

Although the term "Trinity" does not appear anywhere in Scripture, Passages such as this one helped solidify the Trinitarian Doctrine of the Ancient Church.

I saw on the News this morning that Thousands of Christians are fleeing Mosul in Iraq, and that they are being tortured and murdered because of their Faith. Please keep them in Prayer Today.
