Forgiveness was won for everyone’s sins. That doesn’t mean you’re holding true to the gospel. Those are two separate things. Conflating one with the other is part of the problem Protestants have.

Actually I do know. That’s why I know no Protestant sect teaches the gospel and no Protestant holds to it.
And what is really sad, is that they are missing out on Real Salvation.
A Salvation that would make them happier, here on Earth and secure their eternity, than any adherence to a rote religion.

Oh, I forgot, Self and Self Alone folks are all, each and every one, inerrant interpreters of Scripture and each and every one their own authority who cannot be overruled or excommunicated by anyone. They're all just excellent examples of solid Protestants.
People who don't believe in excommunication to begin with using that Red Herring is just trash talk by anti-Catholics who recognize no authority other than Self anyway. Pelosi has spelled out what she believes and sounds exactly like the majority of those on FR who say they're Evangelicals so Protestants should be rejoicing over having her accept their views.

I ask this with a sincere and Christian heart. I have lots of Protestant friends. Many are very good and holy Christians; others, not so much [reminds me of many members of the Catholic Church].
If Protestants could come together with some sort of unity, they would be a more formidable bulwark against the current zeitgeist, the secularization of the culture. I think this article is intending to raise the issue of our lack of unity in Christ.
Catholics need to get serious too. Either we love God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - or we will fail in our goal, that is, ‘winning the prize’ described in Paul’s epistles.
How can the greater ‘Body of Christ resist the evils that are weighing us down, both here in the USA, the Western world, and the non-Christian world when we are so divided? How can God help us if we do not help ourselves and resolve to work together for those values which we all cherish? Looking at the Islamic jihadists, we can see a stark contrast to the Christian world. They are intent on imposing their ghastly religion on all of us.

Your denial is sad. You deny everything responders are saying, but provide no proof. That is the way of the Catholic Church - complete mind control, not the freedom of God’s Truth. You’re an addict who only wants his drug. You have no idea what is in my heart and what kind of relationship I have with the Lord Jesus Christ, yet you feel you can simply deny all by blathering that without your corrupt, heretical church, I’m lost. If I was Catholic, I wouldn't know if I've done enough good works to merit heaven. If I was Catholic, I'd have to accept that I might need to suffer in purgatory to make up for my inadequacy. No thanks.
