Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.(Zechariah 12:1-4)
It is increasingly obvious to all thinking people, Christian and non-Christian alike, that the world is headed for some kind of apocalyptic climax. Since the two World Wars, the cultural exhaustion of the Judeo Christian west, has led to a posture of surrender; first of colonies in the third world , then of religion at home, ultimately of moral leadership in the world , and a crisis of confidence in its own ideals and once cherished values.
This cultural surrender has created a power vacuum which less principled entities are rushing headlong into. Russia is flexing her muscles again, probing the west’s defenses, taking back bits and pieces of the former Soviet Union, bullying newly liberated nations such as Georgia and the Ukraine, which were once assured protection by a more confident West.
China has steadily increased her power, vying for the time when her military and economic might will put her into a position to settle some old scores with the west.
Then of course there is the steaming cauldron that is the Middle East.
The Sunni Muslim world smells blood in the water. Bolstered by western arms and support, and flush with newly looted cash, and even gold reserves ISIS (ISlamic State of Iraq and Syria) is busy retaking much of northern Iraq. This was a nation that was recently set free to become a democracy at the tremendous cost in blood and treasure by the US, Britain and the western coalition.
The renewal of the Sunni Caliphate is one of the goals of ISIS, or ISIL(Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant). The only line of defense for many of Iraq’s remaining Chaldean Christian population, is the Kurdish Peshmurga militia. Though Muslim , the Kurds were the most pro United States portion of Iraq, and are holding their own enclave from ISIL.
Iran is confident, flush with a newly developed Nuclear arsenal, and heady after thirty years of constant pushing and harrying of the western powers with little or no push back. The throngs of youth in the streets of Tehran, begging for western support for their movement towards liberal democracy, was met with indifference in the west and repression by the Mullahs.
Iranian young people are the first generation in centuries to live under free and unfettered Shariah, and they hate it! In fact, they hate ISlam period for the most part. These young Persians paid with their blood, many being murdered in the streets, because they believed that the west would see their demonstrations and use its considerable influence to support them.
The constant shelling of Israel from the Gaza strip and from Hezbollah held southern Lebanon threatens to bring the entire region and eventually the world into war.
History is headed for a climax. Few realize that at the center of both the world and of History sits Israel. The center of Israel is Jerusalem and the center of Jerusalem is the Holy mountain, Mt Zion.Everything revolves around the center.
Jerusalem is the only city on earth which God says He has placed His name in. The Psalmist prophesied that Jerusalem is “the Joy of the whole earth…Mt Zion on the sides of the North, the city of the great King!”. It was in Jerusalem that God dwelt in the temple, between the Cherubim. Jerusalem was the place where Jesus died on the cross and defeated man’s primal enemy, Satan. Outside of Jerusalem sits an empty tomb, for He is risen!
Jerusalem is mentioned 800 plus times in the Bible. Jesus quoted the Psalm above when He said, “Swear not at all, neither by Heaven for it is God’s throne, nor by earth, for it is His footstool, nor By Jerusalem for it is the city of the great King!”. Of course we know also that God’s glory lifted off of the city, and that the temple was destroyed, and that as of late Jerusalem is called “Sodom and Egypt, the city where our Lord was crucified”in the book of Revelation chapter 11.
Jerusalem is the only capitol which the nations of the world refuse to put their embassies in. Every President from Eisenhower to Bush 2 ran on the pledge to move our embassy their but failed to do so. Jerusalem is the city the UN has cut in two pieces! Jerusalem is a city the Pope has designs for also.
Jerusalem is never mentioned by name in the Koran, yet the Muslims claim it as the third holiest site.
Jesus warned that “Jerusalem would be trodden under foot of the gentiles until the time of the gentiles be fulfilled”. Currently, the temple mount is under the custody of the Jordanian council of Muslims known as the WAQF, though Israel liberated Jerusalem in 1967.
There is only one oblique reference to Jerusalem in the Koran, and we only know it is Jerusalem because Modern Islamic scholars say so. It is in the story called the ISRA, wherein Mohammed supposedly mounted a winged horse and rode it to “Al Aqsa”, “The farthest places” in the Arabic. There he ascended to heaven to attend a Muslim prayer meeting with Jesus and Moses! This is the only indirect reference to Jerusalem in the entire Koran.
In 2009 when the president of the United States of America gave an unprecedented speech to the entire Muslim world, at Al Azhar university, (The Harvard, Cambridge and Yale of modern Sunni terrorism, providing the intellectual and philosophical underpinning for it), He mentioned one Koranic verse.
Which Koranic verse did President Barak Hussein Obama mention when he addressed the Muslim world? The only verse which remotely gives credence to the Muslim claim that Jerusalem is theirs, the ISRA.
Current events are swirling around Jerusalem like an Iowa Tornado. Watch Jerusalem, the future of Israel is a siege of Jerusalem, then the Lord himself comes back to rescue his prodigal people and raise the world from the dead. Shalom! Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!
Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out. There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up. These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee? The world is aligning against Israel. Sadly, my own country the United States is aligning themselves with the Jew-killers in the Middle East. I just hope and wish there’s a rapture before the U.S. has to line up against Israel, the Jewish state, to be wiped out by the Lord in the last days of Revelation.
Sadly, you are right! It grieves me to see Christian churches aligning with Hamas, and against Israel. The whole world really knows the Truth, but rejects it. In that sense, the CLintons and their damning the US by declaring that only politically correct speech would be allowed from the time he took office, and which has grown in magnitude since, is our own downfall, and Christians did not rise up (once again) to defend Truth. Now, truth is what the ones with the loudest voices claim it to be and everybody is afraid to say otherwise. The world sees clearly that Islam is NOT a religion of peace, but it is too late to openly state that any longer.
I agree that we are now entering a very bad time for Israel. The world is going to FORCE her into an agreement with Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. It will be made to appear as being for her own good, but we know that it is THE CONTRACT with DEATH. I never thought I’d live to see this day, but here we are getting ready for it to happen at any time now.
Rest assured, the enemies of Israel will be destroyed.
