Saw local story about this tonight on channel 9. Showed the goofball and all. Also showed his wife/girlfriend/co-conspirator/fruitcake. Interviewer made a point at the end of the piece. The guy has rented out the Oklahoma City Civic Center which seats 2000 or so. He has sold 39 tickets.
You know... at the end of the day... God has had many people over the years try to defile holy places etc. This is a way bigger deal to us than it is to God... except for the fact the goofball doing this is lost and facing eternal separation from God. God is concerned about that I think a lot more than the guy using a waffer with a cross scratched on it.
Just my take on it..

The eucharist ministers at my parish are always told to insist on seeing the parishioner actually consume the host in front of them. Unfortunately, as a primarily hispanic parish, we see a lot of brujeria and other activities that potentially could involve a corruption of the host. It is ironic how sometimes the Children of Darkness have a greater reverence for the power of the host than believers.
