Just how often and how many incidents are there of people committing violence in the name of Christianity?

HERE's ONE

Just saying one is a Christian does not make one a Christian... see my post 11.

Actually, did you know that the Bible actually provides a means test for who is a Christian and who is not? 1 John 3:14 declares that we know who is a real Christian because one who has passed from 'death onto life' (a Christian) loves the brethren (other Christians). And if individuals do not love their ‘brother’ (a fellow Christian), they ‘abide in death’ (they are numbered amongst those who are going to Hell.

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

What are the total number people killed in abortion clinic bombings?

I suspect there are more people murdered in Chicago daily than the all-time total of people that have been killed by abortion clinic bombings.

Wonder how it would work out if the survey was taken in a Muslim country?

Would say it is because The Christian bible does not call for such behavior while the Islamic bible does.

Eric Robert Rudolph, also known as the Olympic Park Bomber, is responsible for a series of anti-abortion and anti-gay-motivated bombings across the southern United States between 1996 and 1998, which killed two people and injured 111 others

They may call themselves “Christians” but I can assure you that their motivation is not spreading Christianity.

That is exactly what this thread is all about. muslim extremist are more devout to their religion than self proclaimed violent christian are. So I would say the title of this thread is probably correct.

Let’s put it this way, The Muslims define being a Muslim in two ways:

1) Being born a Muslim
2) Converting to be a Muslim

The more devout a muslim is, the more he reflects the character of Mohammad, which means he NECESSARILY will have to follow Mohammad’s example, which necessarily includes violent Jihad, because that was what he did.

The less devout and less familiar a Muslim is with the Koran and Mohammad’s life, the less extreme and violent he/she will be.

The next question is this — Is a Christian defined as someone who was born and baptized a Christian from birth?

Or is a Christian to be defined as someone who made a willful profession of faith?

Is a person baptized from birth still considered a Christian when he grows up and becomes an atheist?

I don’t think so.

I will argue that the more devout a Christian is, the more he reflects the character of Christ, which means he NECESSARILY will have to follow Christ’s example, which necessarily includes loving God and loving your neighbor as yourself, because that was what Christ did.

The less devout and less familiar a Christian is with the Bible and Christ’s life, the more reason there is to doubt his “Christianity” no matter how much he professes to the world that he is ( see Barack Obama as an example ).

Let’s see, maybe bombing abortion clinics

I guess that's what 'they' mean but when & where is this stuff happening? (I'd search but I'm at the office and want to surf lightly)

From what the MSM puts out, you'd think the Crusades were last year and the next right around the corner.

Should I expect the Spanish Inquisition?

I think the word “extremist” is relative.

All of us in one way or another, are extremists in our own way.

from eating and drinking too much, to pursuing money and pleasure, to fighting for our own little causes.

Jesus did not insists, over and over again, that non followers must be beheaded, taxed, tortured, or enslaved.

Muhammed specifically states this is what Muslims MUST do.
