Eisegesis? Ken Ham gets to the heart of the debate about the six days of creation. If we read from what the biblical text says (exegesis), it allows only one interpretation-six 24-hour days of Creation. Any other interpretation is eisegesis (when people”read into” the Bible).

Belief in God is faith based, not scientific beyond a shadow of a doubt based. For the naysayers that decry that God is being deceptive making the universe seem older, how else was he supposed to do it? Unless accelerated, the rays from distant stars would never reach us and the sky would be black. As far as carbon dating, the existing carbon would have to be determined accurately as well as all conditions affecting deterioration (such as changing atmospheres after the Flood and other factors). Six days means six days.

Pointless to debate because you will never know till you die and ask G_d.
Assuming he has the time to answer you.

According to the wall calendar He created on His 4th Day (sun, moon, stars), today actually is His 4th Day.

The world. led by a calendar named after pope Gregory, names today after some false god named Tiw..

Amazing...
Prophetic...

It was ages. And furthermore, whether it was billions of years or a week does not matter a whit to the message of Jesus and to our salvation.
Jesus never said you must believe 6 days to go to heaven. This is a silly parlor game like how many angels can dance on a pin.

This old testament stuff really doesn’t matter. Beyond curiosity, all you need is found in the new.

What if Genesis is describing creation from its source, with God the Creator located at the center of creation (the big bang) for those first six days? What difference would that make? Einstein has already provided the formula (validated by the WMAP satellite) to figure that out: the universe is expanding at the rate of 10 to the 12th power (one million million). So let’s do the math. 6 million million days divided by 365.25 days per year equals 16.4 million years – well within current scientific estimates of the age of the universe as measured from the earth! So six days measured from the center of the big bang is equal to 16.4 million years as measured from earth. WOW!! Can science really agree with the Biblical six days of creation?

It DOES matter. We let Deception in Genesis 1, there’s no stopping it. It was days. Love the research done by magazine Acts and Facts.

Since we are not privy to the original language used to relay the story of Genesis, debating whether it was Six Days or six millennia is worthless.

I believe in the Lord God the creator of heaven and earth: of all that is seen and unseen.

I don’t care if it took six days, six years or six millennia. God can make a day seem like years or a year seem like a day. He is all powerful.

I am very thankful for all he has brought and He is forgiving!

As a child I believed the 6 as-they-are-now days' creation and for my young years. Then as a 30-something adult I took a course in Anthropology. I never would have chosen to take that course but my father told me to and he was paying for my college. That really rattled me. It was a Catholic college, and we learned about the predecessors of man, Australopethicus, homo erectus, Neanterthal; some natural history, most I've forgotten. I never did feel comfortable about the difference of what was taught in that course and my faith. It still bothers me to read about Neanterthal, we share genes, no they aren't compatible we couldn't mate with them, no Asians carry more Neanderthal dna and so on.

What if science is true or on the right track and the bible a bunch of fables as the atheists like to taunt believers with on news message boards?

I didn't want to believe all that stuff and think they might be mistaken about some of the fossils so I decided to believe what Jesus referred to in the Old Testament. He seemed to believe literally in one man and one woman, Adam and Eve, Noah, David, and Jonah and the whale.

Incidentally I have been reading some of my Edward Rowe Snow books where I left off some years ago (easy, interesting reading), he was no fool and checked his sources as best he could, anyway, he tells of two different instances where men got swallowed by whales and lived. One for 2 days didn't fare too well, skin was bleached white, affected afterwards, but lived quite awhile after that.

I still think that until the earth orbited the sun, days could be almost any length and even back then, we don't know if the hours were exactly 24 because the orbit, no revolutions on the polar axis, could be a little different now.

I’ve always believed it was days, but the Bible actually does not say whether or not there was a time lapse between the first one or two sentences, and the rest of them. After all, there would need to be a cooling off period, whether he created it in one day or not. It seems logical that the earth was created first, then cooled off, before anything else happened. We do know that carbon dating is false. Mt. St. Helen, proved that. It’s one of those questions I’ll ask the LORD when I get to Heaven.
I personally, have seen a person’s short leg grow out to its normal length, instantly, right in front of my eyes. It didn’t get longer by the person stretching his leg out, or anything like that. A blurring occurred as the leg grew out. I was close enough to see that. God can do anything he wants, any way He wants to, or else He wouldn’t be God.
