Should State Senator Apologize for Calling Hinduism a ‘False Faith’?

Idaho lawmaker says she's "really opposed to having prayer that wasn't Christian" in legislative body. by March 19, 2015 - 2:07 pm (Pic in URL) A crowd of naysayers that ranged from her cousin in the state of Washington, to Buddhist leaders in Boise, Colo., to a rabbi in Nevada has called on Idaho Sen. Sheryl “Sherry” Nuxoll (R) to apologize for calling Hinduism a “false faith with false gods.”

While the self-described mother, housewife and co-manager of a farm/ranch in Cottonwood, Idaho, has admitted she could have turned a better phrase, she has refused to say the words many people want to hear: “I’m sorry.”

Nuxoll and two other Republicans refused to attend the opening of an Idaho Senate session March 3 that was scheduled to include the first Hindu prayer ever heard in that legislative venue. The invocation was delivered by Rajan Zed, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism.

Republican senators Steve Vick, Lori Den Hartog and Nuxoll returned to the floor of the Senate when Zed finished his prayer. Vick and Den Hartog made it clear that they were not happy with the Senate session being opened with a Hindu prayer.

Other senators also expressed their unhappiness with the decision to open the session with the first Hindu prayer ever heard on the floor of the state Senate. But no one other than Nuxoll came close to saying they were objecting to a false faith.

Hindu and Buddhist leaders have accused Nuxoll of adding insult to injury in an interview with a reporter from the Idaho Statesman.

So next we apologize for saying the Sun rises in the East? American being destroyed from within. What next a Muezzin’s call to prayer? A Buddhist chant?

From within describes this situation good as it was some one from within who invited a Hindu to deliver the prayer.

The emphasis should be on the ones who invited the Hindu, what was their intentions? these people may be evil but they are not stupid.

While I am not about to criticize Sherry Nuxoll for her view, the Hindu who delivered the prayer most likely acted out of innocence.

I believe if we look under the rocks we can see that it was planned this way by the sleaze bags who knew that it was going to make some one look bad.

Libs are moving on to religious war divisions. I hate these animals. Might be time for civil war.

I hate to say that I hate but I have about that same feeling and don`t know what else to call it.

A lib will whine that we have to feed the hungry but will not give the sweat from their brow to keep some one from dying of thirst.

The person who may say :let them go hungry: will be the first one to feed them.

Yet I don`t like to call them animals because that is an insult to animals.

Some Hindus have been known to kill those who attempt to convert Hindus to Christianity, so they might be miles better than Muslims, but not light years....

LOL!
Yes, I know. Maybe leagues or furlongs...
Nonetheless, the Hindu butchers can't point to support from their books and teaching. They are basically nationalistic A-holes that see Christianity as a Western infringement, or an attack on their 'happy' caste system (can't have the Dalits putting on airs now can we?). For that matter their are people who call themselves Christians who also commit heinous acts. The distinction is that the islamic cult can point to their holy book that instructs them that when failing to convert - kill and enslave.
