Proving that God has no time limits like we do.

Preach it! Preach it!

I like this one where Jesus looks pretty robust and Satan under His feet looks like a shriveling rat.

`

I also like this one, where Jesus is positively muscular.

`

And this one, where He's gently shepherding Adam and Eve and the rest of the poor souls, out of the Mouth of Hell!

Are you talking about the Road to Emmaus?

Jesus went to paradise just like he told the thief when the thief believed on him.

And as I said “Paradise” was a waiting place.

He didn’t ascend into heaven until 50 days after Easter — on the Ascension.

Hell had to open it’s gates to let the savior in. Then he led us out and the gates of Hell cannot prevail against the Church... which is built on the rock, which is the knowledge that Jesus is Christ the Son of the Living God. And Peter was given the keys to the kingdom because he had this knowledge.

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

"Abraham's bosom" is another term for "the Abode of the Dead" or "Limbo of the Patriarchs." (Limbo = threshhold.) They're not in flaming Ghenna.

This is also the place your religions calls purgatory...

Jesus unlocked the gate and all those who were captive moved on out...They ultimately went to heaven...So there sets your purgatory with the doors flung wide open...

Now that Jesus has ascended to heaven, all Christians go to heaven...

Well then paradise had to have been in Abraham's bosom until it was moved to heaven...

Verily. :o)

Because, you see, that IS the doctrine of the Church. Everybody in Purgatory is saved. They all go to Heaven.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15

"Every man’s work shall be made manifest;
for the Day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire,
and the fire shall test every man’s work
of what sort it is.

"If any man’s work abide
which he hath built thereon,
he shall receive a reward.

"If any man’s work shall be burned,
he shall suffer loss;
but he himself shall be saved,
but only as through fire."

But I don't see why there's a problem at all. Jesus reached to Moses and Elijah on Mt. Tabor. That would seem to illustrate and confirm -- not contradict--- that the souls of the dead needed to have the Gospel preached to them.

Were they let out of "holding area "just for a few minutes?? Jesus was talking to them.. and He forbid the apostles present from speaking to them ..We have no mention of Marys "assumption" into heaven ...but we sure do with in the OT

2 Kings 2:…10He said, "You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so." 11As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven. 12Elisha saw it and cried out, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!" And he saw Elijah no more. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.…

Heaven” is mentioned nearly 300 times in the Old Testament, yet nothing is even implied about a temporary paradise.

Nothing in the bible teaches about a temporary Heaven or a temporary Hell.

What did Jesus say to the thief on the cross??
"… He said, ""Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."(Luke 23:43)

Not hell...In the OT men were declared righteous by God looking forward to the cross.. today we are declared righteous looking back to it

There is no second chance to be saved

Nothing in the bible teaches about a temporary Heaven or a temporary Hell.

Could you tell me the gospel that Jesus was supposed to preach to them ?
