Nearly 5,000 people have signed a petition protesting a proposal to turn a Catholic hospital chapel into a Muslim prayer room.

Outright discrimination, or so it seems.
“St Raphael’s chapel contains the Blessed Sacrament and Mass is celebrated weekly. It is well used and highly valued by patients, staff and visitors at the hospital.”
Fr Ged Murphy, who started the online petition protesting the plan, said that people get “great comfort” at the chapel and that other faiths use it.
“It is used during the week for Mass. We are not against the Muslim community having a prayer room, but don’t see the sense in taking away a chapel that is serving one community to serve another,” he added.
The whole issue seems to be no washing facilities for the Muslims? Simple solution. Move their space to a designated mens restroom.
I would like to have a civil conversation, not doctrinal, about this article. I am curious as to what ALL Christians think of only Catholics being left out in such a blatant fashion.

The article didn’t provide enough detail, so I searched for others. This one says Catholics would share the room that is currently for Protestants:
I've spent lots of time in Catholic hospital chapels over the years. I was married in one 29 years ago and the Priest and Nuns overseeing it didn't mind the fact that we weren't Catholic. Actually they helped us with the wedding by holding our reception. The chaplain due to his church rules could not officiate {very understandable} but he didn't mind nor forbid our pastor to do so. The chaplain also attended the wedding.
I think the more radical Muslims take over Christian churches in order to desecrate them. Any reasonable group would simply ask for similar accommodations on the scale of their likely participation.
This is in Britain.
To make certain that this is clear, it is a Catholic chapel in a NHS Hospital Trust, not a chapel in a Catholic hospital.
I personally don’t think ANY “worship space” should be provided for Muslims, nor do I think that “worship space” should be provided for Satanists who desire to perform human sacrifice (but I repeat myself).
Having said that, the Catholic population in that area is down to 270,000 while the Muslim population has grown to 238,000 (doubling in the past 10 years). If Christians in England don’t watch themselves, they will find that they are in the same situation as Christians in Syria in 50 years.

It’s past time to stop letting them take over.
When my family went up the Sears Tower one Sunday in Chicago, a Muslim woman asked an attendant a couple of questions on the 100+ floor and went to pray. My guess was she wanted to know which way was Mecca, but obviously was willing to be in a place with no designated space during prayer time. As Muslims need no holy images or symbols, they can share the quiet room with the others who choose it. All they need is some floor space.
did you know the Koran has a section that dictates how muslims should wash their ass with their hand after a bowel movement? it’s astonishing that anyone thinks that is a holy book. the things in that book are random and ridiculous.
