As for the unrest that continued within his country, he blamed that on the other Arab states, who he said were constantly sending operatives into Iraq to protract the violence and disorder in an attempt to protect their own power by showing that democracy did not work in Arab nations.
Ali spoke of the great persecution that the Shia majority of Iraq had endured at the hands of Hussein’s Sunni regime. When I told him of how the Latter-day Saints were driven from state to state -- even at the hands of the state itself -- he was surprised. “I did not think anything like that ever happened in America,” he said.

There are lots of people who consider themselves Jews but don’t actually believe in God. They simply view it as a identity they were born into. Its the same for Christians and Muslims as well. They may call themselves a Muslim but they don’t practice or advocate for anything in the Koran
I don’t think the religion that is the most popular on the earth is authentic. It contains guidance that legitimizes and progresses the active killing of others in its advancement, even those of its own orders. The creator of this ‘religion’ was a pedophile as documented in the founding documents. It expounds that women are a commodity and subservient to men. It encourages the deception of others in its progression towards world domination. It has leaders that expound to discourage and remove those abject behaviors but has been unsuccessful over the 1400 years it has been in existence. However, this may also be a deception. Would it be that a god would want killing, pedophilia, slavery, and deception in his honor?

Sounds like the typical Christian apology to assume Islam a newer version of Christianity, that Jesus and Mohammad are the same. More Western excuse making.
If they do not practice or advocate anything in the koran and live in the Middle East, they are apostates and other musclemen are obliged to kill them. They would also be cultural outcasts, and the religious police would beat them senseless.

The pillars of mohammedumism are commanded, required, obligatory, and not optional. Jihad is the sixth pillar. This is the battle against any and all who oppose mohammedumism.

FYI: Mohammad personally beheaded 40 Jewish captives, his battle cry was, “Kill, kill, kill.” Mohammad was a warlord; his followers during his time turned the North African coast - the bread basket of Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia) into a semi-arid desert; he was a slave owner. He married a child.
No doubt your pal would tell you of the vile Crusades without mentioning the 523 major battles by musclemen invaders into Europe, or that all of the Middle East and North Africa were Christian.
He would tout the many learned things musclemen created, without mentioning the libraries they looted, the countless scrolls they burned, nor that every thing attributed to musclemen was done by someone else. All the lost classical Western literature was destroyed by musclemen - Dictum: if it is in the koran, then it is superfluous and must be destroyed, anything not mentioned in the koran is anathema and must be destroyed.
Outward appearances have nothing to do with what a musclemen is capable of when practicing his religion.
