No devotional today, but in its place I offer this.
A friend of mine has fallen for Bell’s shtick.
Rob Bell was my canary in the coal mine. I always loved his teachings and looked forward to new ones. His gospel of pure love seemed so Christlike on the surface.
But then we went Universalist and the real foundations of this teachings were exposed. I got rid of all my Rob Bell stuff after explaining why it was necessary again and again to my wife.
Weaning her off Joyce Meyers and Beth Moore was much harder, but it is finally done.
Especially Canadian born wolves.
....”many of Bell’s followers no longer follow the Jesus of the Scripture, but one of their own making”......
Yep....I talked with some of his followers and no doubt they’re way off track.....few that follow Bell, and those he has as guests, come away unscathed...if indeed they do come away.
I see Bell as leading people to the edge where they should not venture....once there they look too far over that edge and fall off the cliff.
