Pope shocker: Promotes socialism, likens Jesus to ISIS
WND ^ | 05/20/2016 | Cheryl Chumley

Pope Francis, in an interview with the French newspaper La Croix, suggested a likeness between ISIS and Jesus by explaining that while “the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam,” it was quite possible to interpret certain passages of the Gospels, particularly in Matthews, as a call for Christians to go forth with this “same idea of conquest” in their discipleship.

He also faulted the free market for driving poverty, saying economies need “a state to monitor and balance them;” gun manufacturers for fueling wars; and the failures of Christians in Europe to properly assimilate with Muslims as causing much of the tensions of recent times – ostensibly, to include acts of terror.

His specific words, according to an English interpretation of his comments: “Today, I don’t think that there is a fear of Islam as such but of ISIS and its war of conquest, which is partly drawn from Islam. It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam. However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

I’m not convinced these guys are Catholics. They only seem to fight with Catholics, all the time. Weirdness, for an anonymous internet forum anyhow. I mean if they actually cared about this stuff, wouldn’t they come off differently?

Believing, or “traditional,” Catholics have been brutally assaulted, raped, even, by the bishops, the priests, the nuns, the bureaucrats, for five decades. That is why they are angry.

Now we have a Pope raping the Church in broad daylight, and even then “good” bishops are making with the pom-poms!

The traddies are like a coiled spring. They are ready to pounce at all times, and everybody is a modernist, a denier of “extra ecclesiam nulla salus,” etc., etc., etc. Too often, they don’t subscribe to what the Church has always taught; they subscribe to the Feeneyite heresy.

This is plain ignorance on your part. In my travels, yes, there are some that do. However, by and large, most definitely do not and work pretty darn hard to convince the Feeneyites they are wrong (or Feeneyism is simply banned from discussion). Having said that, you seem to subscribe to the belief that non-Catholics with inculpable ignorance can get to Heaven. That is not Church teaching either.

All that quote proves is that Benedict also believed the heresy taught in Vatican II (not just Francis). In fact his quote is practically word for word:

It follows that the separated Churches and Communities as such, though we believe them to be deficient in some respects, have been by no means deprived of significance and importance in the mystery of salvation. For the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as means of salvation which derive their efficacy from the very fullness of grace and truth entrusted to the Church.- Unitatis Redintegratio, Vatican II

Prior to Vatican II the Catholic Church did not teach this.

This isn’t about my “not digging” Benedict. That belittles and ignores the real issues at hand.

That should read “culpable ignorance”. *Invincible* ignorance is the only ignorance that gives any non-Catholic a pass..and even then, salvation is not guaranteed.

First of all, Fr. Feeney died reconciled with the Catholic Church. Secondly, I believe the Church's constant teaching of Baptism by Water, by Blood or by Desire. Prior to the last 200 years, Baptism by Desire had alway been always been defined as applying only to those who have died without being baptized with water, but who had the desire and the intention of being Baptized with water before death. But now, Baptism by Desire can also apply to any jew, muslim, pagan, buddhist, etc. who just has to "think" he is doing good works, even though he is fully aware of the teachings of Catholic religion of EENS. And the latter position of this view is heresy.

And it's Catholics like Pope Francis and some Catholics on this forum who perpetuate and teach that false, modernist view of Baptism by Desire.

The fact that Feeney died in union with the Church implies nothing about his teaching.

Fr. Feeney was excommunicated for disobeying his superiors. He was expelled from the Society of Jesus for the same reason.

He was not excommunicated because of his teaching, and the excommunication was lifted as he approached death as an act of mercy, without reference to his teaching. He was not required to retract anything. And he was no longer competent to think about any theological issues.

The important point is: The fact that his excommunication was lifted DOES NOT IMPLY THAT HIS TEACHING WAS NOT HERETICAL, because his teaching was never the reason for the excommunication in the first place.

Fr. Feeney’s teaching was a heretical interpretation of EENS. It always was, during his life and after his death.

The Church has never taught, as Feeney did, that all people who are not formally, officially, registered in a parish as a baptized member of the Catholic Church, are damned.

I agree with you that Popes and the rest of the hierarchy have slipped into indifferentism, taking a cavalier attitude about the spiritual danger in which non-Catholics live as a result of being deprived of the ordinary means of salvation. By many scandalous gestures, such as kissing the Koran, they have promoted this indifferentism.

The Church has never formally taught any doctrine but the correct doctrine on this subject.

Did you not read the rest of my post?

I’ll repeat myself, I do believe in the Church’s teaching of Baptism by Water, by Blood, or by Desire.

I don’t appreciate you parsing my posts to you. And I do consider you to be very much a member of what you described as, “Popes and the rest of the hierarchy have slipped into indifferentism, taking a cavalier attitude about the spiritual danger in which non-Catholics live as a result of being deprived of the ordinary means of salvation.”

For example, from your heretical post #74, “No one can be damned who does what he is convinced is right.” The muslim 911 plane hijackers thought they were doing right. I’m not saying I know they are damned but I’m not going to venture to say they are not, as you have implied.

I should re-word what I wrote: No one can be damned for an action he sincerely believed was right. I did not mean to say or imply that anyone who EVER did something he thought was right on some occasion could never be damned.

It is highly likely that the 9/11 murderers are in Hell. It isn’t self-evident that they thought they were “right.” People commit horrific, gruesome crimes every day. There’s no reason to think they all think they are doing what is “right,” even when, like Hitler, Stalin, Hillary, Obama, and Biden, they spew ideological justifications for their murders and lies.

OTOH, like nearly all Muslim males, the 9/11 murderers were raped throughout childhood and adolescence. How culpable any such men are for their acts of terror is unknowable to us mere mortals.

By what exalted, divine privilege are your posts to be immune from “parsing”? If you don’t want your thought parsed, don’t post them.

Of course it's self-evident. From the muslims' Koran:

Quran (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."

Quran (9:111) - "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme."

Quran (2:207) - "And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah..."

I’m not convinced they are what they say. Yeah I could be wrong too. But if they actually believed this stuff, they wouldn’t all come off as jerks about it. I mean come on. They would take pains to not jerkify their posts. There’s not one guy that buys this stuff but is cool on FR that posts regularly as all the jerks who also believe it do? Fairly unbelievable, at least my opinion.

I also look at sign up dates.

So there's an excuse for everything? How convenient. And how Modernist.

No one can be damned for an action he sincerely believed was right.

What if that one action was hijacking an airliner and slamming it into a skyscraper? What about the resulting actions from muslims around the world as a result of that one action? Those hijackers were not alone in their beliefs.
