The reformation was a necessary occurrence. The corruption of Rome was so extreme that it sickened any one with a conscience.

I do not disagree with More. Henry abused the church for his own purposes.

Unity is not the goal. Preaching the gospel and bring in right relation with God is. The current pope exposes how wrong the church can be. I do not need spiritual direction from a communist

“The corruption of Rome was so extreme that it sickened any one with a conscience.”

That’s really more myth than anything else. http://the-orb.arlima.net/non_spec/missteps/ch11.html If your claim was true, then someone would have to ask, “If the Protestant Revolution (and revolution it was rather than reformation) happened because of “Rome’s corruption” then why were the new sects that sprang up in its wake so corrupt?”

The reformation was a necessary occurrence.

The COUNTER reformation was an attempt by Rome to cover over it's sins.
